DirecTV Buys Rival Dish As Satellite Mainstays Hunker Down Against Onslaught Of Streaming Services
"DirecTV said Monday that the transaction will help it bring smaller content packages to consumer at lower prices. It’s hoping this will appeal to those who have left satellite video services for streaming. The company said that combined, DirecTV and Dish have collectively lost 63% of their satellite customers since 2016."

There are some areas of even Washtenaw County where satellite is the preferable or maybe only choice. I had a friend east of Milan that was like that and propane for gas and well water. Kinda off the beaten path not far from a town.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 1:03 pm I'm not sure why anyone with access to high speed Internet or wired cable would electively choose satellite.
I do know in some rural areas it is the only option (aside from maybe OTA signals).

AT&T sold its 70% of DTV also, Now TPG owns both.
