Kamala Harris vs....

Unread post by craig11152 »

Liz Channey
Tulsi Gabbard
Nikki Haley

If the republican party had kicked Trump to the curb after 2020 LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE what would the polls look like if one of the above listed women was running against Harris?

I would have easily voted for Haley. I think the Dems would have let Biden be a sacrificial lamb if Republicans had been smart.

Haley would have gotten my vote as well and I would have no issue voting for Cheney. Gabbard is a bit out there with some of her rhetoric.

Of course Tulsi is arguably the closest thing to a PILF of the group.

Nah, she's an old bag.
She’s 43… but she’s not aged real well.

This scenario also requires the Republican Party to somehow have had an epiphany and begun acting normally again.

So in making these predictions, we're just going to completely discount how badly McCain lost in 2008 and Romney lost in 2012? Moderate Republicans couldn't beat Obama, what makes you think one could beat Kamala?

We're also just going ignore the fact that Trump retains 91 percent approval among Republicans, and that literally every single self-proclaimed Republican who responded here falls within the 9 percent? Doesn't exactly give your predictions much weight.

Liz Cheney wouldn't even come close. She would lose the popular vote by at least 12-15 points in a general election.

Tulsi Gabbard is a total wild card. My best guess is she would do marginally worse than Trump given her endorsement of Trump (so not many Dems or moderates who hate Trump would cross over to vote for her) but also the fact that she was a Democrat just 4 years ago so a lot of Trump voters wouldn't trust her.

Nikki Haley would bring a very different electorate to the polls. My best guess is she would do about the same as Trump as I think her extra support from the middle/left would roughly wash out against the number of Trump voters who stayed home.

My god man… it’s a hypothetical… I agree that they might have an enthusiasm problem. I would also speculate that Trump might have mounted an independent bid.

Trump may have mounted an independent bid if it were Cheney. I doubt it for the other two.

Maybe the other two would offer a pardon?

But absent a third party bid or a promise of a pardon they would have to figure out a way to get the MAGA people to be energized. Keeping on the MAGA train has proven to be a disaster for anyone not named Trump.

My issue with some of the posters here who claim to be Republicans act like they speak for the entire Republican party when in fact all polling suggests that they don't - not by a longshot. Don't you think it is a bit ballsy to be in a 9 percent minority and act (quite obnoxiously, in Matt's case) like you somehow speak for a large majority of people?

Maybe… but if you want to win you should have kicked Trump to the curb and we are seeing mountains of evidence for that now. You don’t seem to want to acknowledge that but Trump is in serious trouble.
