B-93 is number one once again. As I said before B-93 has a loyal audience. I'd say the audience is too loyal for keeping
the station highly ranked even though I-Heart stopped The B-93 Birthday Bash. While B-93 gained a little former number
one station WCSG dropped to second place losing more than a whole percentage point of its share. I really don't think
that WCSG is losing anybody in reality I think that station had a bad book. It was interesting to see WCSG and WGRD tied
for second place both with a 7.6% share each. It certainly was a good book for WLAV with a 5.6% share. As I said in the
earlier posts without classic rock competition the classic rock audience ultimately returns to WLAV because of the fact
that the other stations don't play what is considered "classic rock" all of the time because they're not with a classic rock
format. Although none of the other 50,000 watt stations in the market will flip to classic rock I do think that G.R. could
sustain two classic rock stations competing just like in Detroit. I do think however that a competing classic rock station
should play less pop hits (known as classic hits WFGR and The Big 101.3 FM) and play more interesting deeper cuts
than what is currently available on WLAV. By the way I noticed that both of the stations that play "classic hits" which
are WFGR with classic hits of the 70's and 80's and WBFX "The Big 101.3 FM with classic hits/ oldies from the mid 60's to
the mid 80's both were under a 3% share. The classic rock audience has returned to WLAV for lack of anything better.

One thing I didn't mention in my last post is that "Thunder Country" jumped up to a 2.6% share and for that station that is
a high number. It went from a 1.9% previously and I really do think that was strange because none of it came from B-93
who increased by .4 from the last time. I believe that Cumulus of G.R. will use that as an excuse to continue the pseudo
competition with B-93 that they simply can't win.

That jump is probably a fluke based on diary placement. There's a high chance they polled the eastern part of the market, where 107.3 can come in easier and the demos there are more likely to partake in country music.

I think the radio market is Kent and Ottawa only, so I'm wondering if some of the books (more than usual) went to northern Kent. Years ago, I remember seeing WTCM-FM make the low end of the book in Grand Rapids and Muskegon when diaries were sent to the northern portions of those markets.

I think this is why WFMK's website is full of blogs about abandoned places and ghost towns in michigan by John Robinson.

Clownswquare doesnt care that making the river a clone of WFMK isnt working per these ratings.
