I noticed the Bell feed is different, which makes me wonder if they're now using a generic iHeart Canada oldies feed? To be honest, I'm surprised CKWW lasted as long as it did with the oldies format. I thought it would flip after Charlie O left, it wasn't the same after he left anyway.
I'm very confused. What they're playing on the website is completely different

Hey Stop-
I’m thinking that you’re listening to the old feed, which has been playing music just as we have heard for the last few years on CKWW, with no jingles/production or announcers.

The “am580ckww.com” feed has been playing 70s/80s music, and had Mark and Kara Ro’s show this morning.

The feed on the new 580 website is the exact radio feed. I haven't listened the entire day, but when I have I've only caught one pre-1970 song, "Laughing" by the Guess Who, and that was 1969.

Bell is running a different feed on the old 580 website.

I think the plan is to build around the morning show. Any of our Windsor friends seeing any sort of promotion over there?

No promotions from what I can see, unless it came directly from Mark or Kara’s personal fb feed. I’m surprised even local print hasn’t posted anything.

I'd be putting Oldies on AM 1160 and Brother fill-in-the-blank on 1460 right about now (if anywhere).

I was surprised to hear "Romantic Traffic" by Spoons on CKWW. That obscure 80's song turns up occasionally on CKUE.

Haven’t listened nearly as much today, and I am noticing multiple repeats. Granted, there are no commercials, but it appears the playlist is quite short.

I agree, I made several comments today about the repeats. Hopefully that’s just a kink to work out.

It looks like most of the comments are not positive, as people liked the oldies format and CKLW style presentation.

Charlie O commented that the station had no listeners and Bell didn't care and added this change is probably the best for CKWW as a whole. I'm sure Charlie being an oldies guy probably understands more about CKWW than anyone else, since he worked there for a long time.

If you look at successful Oldies stations in Louisville and Buffalo, in both instances, they have good FM translator coverage.
Isn't 740 CFZM Zoomer Radio doing this successfully in Toronto? I may be wrong but I think their only translator is a pretty weak one only in downtown Toronto.

The 55+ numbers for CFZM might be strong. I just don't know where to find them.

The FM signal was built to improve reception where the streetcar lines are.
