Trump campaign not even hiding overt racism
Re: Trump campaign not even hiding overt racism
Matt now you see why I will no longer engage BMW. He refuses to see anything that may show that Trump is anything less than the only person who should be president. There was a time he was a rational, thinking person. He is suffering from MAGA brain rot and is no longer worth wasting time on.
Re: Trump campaign not even hiding overt racism
So just admit you have no idea what those pictures actually are and we'll move on.
And if you're wondering why it is relevant, I'll explain why. That latter picture in particular - if that was a snapshot in time, somewhere in the US, then it is an accurate representation of what overrun borders can look like. I can't help it that YOU are the one who looks at skin color. I look at that picture and what I see is an area overrun with poor immigrants.
Are you suggesting that because most of the people who come across our border illegally are not white that it is politically incorrect (or even worse, overtly racist), to point out this fact? Please explain the logic here.

Re: Trump campaign not even hiding overt racism
I can't help it that you are butthurt over me owning you twice. Once in a debate, and once in a fake story that you ate up hook line and sinker. Not only did you falsely (on multiple occasions) misrepresent my position in that debate, you also incorrectly accused me of falsely misrepresenting your position when I did no such thing. When I called you out on that, you threw a hissy fit and took your ball and went home.zzand wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 12:41 pm Matt now you see why I will no longer engage BMW. Where are those guys? Really!
The ONLY thing those guys see is color, and they'll see color where none exists. Everything is "racist"!bmw wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 12:26 pmYou've made the claim but without any support other than IT'S OBVIOUS!!! CAN'T YOU SEE WHAT EVERYONE ELSE CAN SEE!!!
Uh, yeah, that's not how debating works either. You summoned me over here. So now I have questions. What exactly am I looking at in those two pictures? I'm trying to figure out if that latter one is an actual, non-staged picture, and if so, where was it taken? Contrary to your beating your chest and screaming RACISM! RACISM! RACISM! ITS SO OBVIOUS!, context matters here because my response may be very different depending on whether that is a fake picture or not.

Come on Matt, you're just going to ignore my response and not answer my questions? You screamed like a school girl trying to get me into this thread, and now you have nothing else to day.

Also, would you voluntarily live in the neighborhood pictured on the right, and if not, why not?

Re: Trump campaign not even hiding overt racism
Dude… that post is DIRECTLY saying something… get the image on the left if you elect Trump and get the one on the right of you elect Kamala and it’s being used to imply that no matter where you are either image is coming to your neighborhood depending on your choice. You are overthinking it… I think you have put more thought into dismissing what it is than Trumps campaign did in creating the message.bmw wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 9:38 am Come on Matt, you're just going to ignore my response and not answer my questions? Re: Trump campaign not even hiding overt racism
The specific charge I'm respnding to here is overt racism. And my argument is that if the photo on the right is an actual photo of an actual location somewhere in the US and wasn't staged, then its ridiculous to argue racism. Again - the vast majority of people who come across the southern border illegally are not white; hence, any imagery used to argue what problems an open border creates will necessarily contain people of color.
How would you depict the problem of illegal border crossings without coming across as racist in the minds of people like Matt? Hint - it would be impossible. Because any photographic evidence of the problem will have people of color and people like Matt will scream racism.

Re: Trump campaign not even hiding overt racism
You are overthinking it to assume there is some sort of academic adjacent argument being made. They are playing to the base instincts of their base. Trump is elected and we have an orderly leave it to beaver utopia and Harris is elected we get hordes of brown people who might rape your daughter and kill your wife. That is the message plain and simple. It’s not one of how you show migrants that are or are not brown. That isn’t the point…. It’s also not about these people being distantly in the country somewhere…bmw wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 10:24 am The specific charge I'm respnding to here is overt racism. THIS WILL HAPPEN IN YOUR NEIGHBERHOOD AND BE YOUR LIFE UNLESS YOU ELECT US!
No more complicated than that. You’re trying to find some logical excuse to normalize blatant fear-mongering as some smart thing with a point… don’t bother… there isn’t one.

Beemer is an analytical individual, and often, overly so. He can look at a conversation between Trump and the Georgia SOS which is obvious to everyone as an extortion to change the results of an election, and over-analyze it to defend Trump. Same here.Rate This wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 11:10 amYou are overthinking it to assume there is some sort of academic adjacent argument being made. Well that and they are attempting to reach the LEAST analytical and thinking among us so the message cannot be complicated or need any thinking.Honeyman wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 11:18 amBeemer is an analytical individual, and often, overly so. Re: Trump campaign not even hiding overt racism
I'll take over-analytical as a compliment. Sorry I think things through instead of posting the first knee-jerk reaction I have to something.
Again, the specific charge here was overt racism. And my counter to that is that it is impossible to post photographic evidence of a border crossing problem without posting a photo of colored people. Now if you want to argue that Trump chose 2 extreme examples, fine. But that's politics. It isn't racism. Because if this is racist, then what you're telling me is that politicians are shielded from criticism when their policies are inter-related to people of color in some way.

Re: Trump campaign not even hiding overt racism
But the point wasn’t “a border crossing problem”. It was “YOUR NEIGHBERHOOD WILL LOOK EXACTLY LIKE IT DOES NOW UNDER TRUMP BUT IF YOU ELECT KAMALA YOUR NEIGHBERHOOD WILL BE OVERRUN WITH HORDES OF STRANGE FOREIGN PEOPLE AND IT WILL TURN TO HELL VERY QUICKLY”. Period. Full stop. No need to analyze.bmw wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 11:57 am I'll take over-analytical as a compliment. The core of his base looks at the second image and says “I DON’T WANT THAT IN MY NEIGHBERHOOD…”. The THAT in that example isn’t “a border crossing problem”. It’s look at all those foreigners… and then the panic he’s sowed in about murderers and rapists and what not. The whole thing is tinged with racial overtones. I guarantee if these were folks from Norway in a scrum like that there would be no issue and we would suddenly be talking about poor huddled masses from his campaign. This is an extremely old movie that we’ve seen several hundred times going back well over 100 years man.
Trump continually plays to peoples base instincts about the other. In this case people of other races. Some policy that aims to help a specific group or them talking about a specific group in some way that’s benign isn’t in the same zip code as this stuff.
