Doesn't Fox 2, as an O&O, usually simulcast Fox News Channel for big breaking news?
I think the issue here is how weak of a network system Fox has. Because they have never had a national news presence other than the cable channel, it's almost like they didn't have any central way to switch from a sports broadcast to news in the way that one of the other major networks would. I mean, Fox 2 WAS running the network feed; that's what it was.
I agree that the Fox network should have considered switching from the game over to simulcasting Fox News Channel onto the main network feed. But I don't think they do that. It demonstrates that Fox News Channel is not actually news content, at its core. It's entertainment. It's presenting a conservative narrative for ratings.
