He was legendary in the mid 80s to early 90s. Same for Albom.

Internet changed everything. Bernie= old and boring and not relevant.

I liked Bernie’s approach. He was no Al Ackerman, but Al was great for his time. Bernie’s approach was from “sports-as-entertainment”, which is closer to how a casual viewer would approach it.

Best wishes to Bernie in retirement!

In his last comments I really kind of had a soft spot when he mentioned how they would drop the humorous stuff when there was serious news (he mentioned the Oxford shooting)

Seeing Carmen Harlan there, reminds me of the segment where she and Bernie were talking about "Toy Story" and mentioning the dolls that were available to be purchased from the movie, Carmen said something to the effect..
"So you got your Woody"..
Bernie just lost it as the broadcast ended there, Carmen had no idea what she said....
