Same with me with Wow Cable. Business as usual with Bally's, it has not gone anywhere.

Re: Tiger Baseball on TV
For this Tigers fan it's been A, with some C if the spirit moves me.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 6:21 pmArt Van Damme wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 12:57 pm It’s been a few weeks since Xfinity pulled the plug on Bally.
The chatter seems to have quieted down.
Do you think:
A) people have moved on with their lives and found something different to occupy the time that used to be spent watching the Tigers?
B) people have adapted/purchased the Bally app
C) people are listening to the Tiger’s radio broadcasts?
D) people are watching illegal streams.
E) people have become apathetic about the situation and don’t care anymore.
What say you?
For people that actually follow Tigers baseball - mostly B, with a little C and D mixed in.
Vast majority of Xfinity subscribers likely don't care about Tigers baseball. Tigers on Bally's averaged a 2.56 rating in 2023 and a 2.52 rating in 2022.

To add insult to injury, since around 12 noon yesterday, my Xfinity TV and Internet service/WI-FI has been out of service!!! I’m already/recently paying for the Bally Sports App to watch this up-and-down, near-500 Tigers team on a combination of my iPad (crystal clear, small screen) and my Samsung TV (grainy, large screen), but without my home WI-FI, I’m having to patch the iPad through my hotspot on my phone while I’m (somewhat) patiently waiting for a service call from Xfinity on Friday morning.

Re: Tiger Baseball on TV
Digging through some business pubs (not sports) on this issue, I came up with the following:
* Diamond Sports is bankrupt and bleeding money (we knew that)
* About 81% of Diamond's revenue is from cable and satellite distributors
* About 1/3 of that (or about 27%) of Diamond's revenue comes from Comcast -- which is no longer being paid
* Diamond's bankruptcy plan is contingent on its' "normal" revenue stream, including Comcast's share
My take on this is that Comcast knows Diamond can't survive (and its bankruptcy plan won't pass muster) without the revenues from Comcast. Thus all Comcast has to do is wait for Diamond to bleed dry. This might also explain why Diamond won't let Comcast be on a higher tier; Diamond needs ALL of Comcast's payments, not just what might come from a premium add-on. Please correct me where appropriate.

Just got my most recent Xfinity bill (Payment due mid-June) and my “credit” for not getting Bally Sports Detroit (since May 1st) has yet to be reflected on my bill.

Pleading the fifth on this. A lot of these games have been fun to watch at home though.Art Van Damme wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 12:57 pm It’s been a few weeks since Xfinity pulled the plug on Bally.

With school ending, I can see an increase in attendance to the ball park.

FWIW, Xfinity sent out this email on May 28:
"Your bill credit is on the way
Between May 28 and June 7, you’ll see a $8.30 Regional Sports Network (RSN) fee credit applied to your bill for the recent loss of Bally Sports from your channel lineup.
There’s no action required by you. We’ll continue to apply this credit to your monthly bill until your RSN fee is adjusted or this content is restored to your channel lineup. (italics mine. hmmm?)
We remain committed to passing along the savings from this change directly to you.
Thank you for being an Xfinity customer."

XFinity gave me a loss of use credit on my bill when I was without service during a power outage. I would fight for that.uncleb67 wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 9:47 am To add insult to injury, since around 12 noon yesterday, my Xfinity TV and Internet service/WI-FI has been out of service!!! I also get that email. An 8.30 credit, yet my Regional Sports Network fee is over $10. I don't get any other regional sports channels other than Bally's.SolarMax wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 7:13 pmFWIW, Xfinity sent out this email on May 28:

If you can't get the shitty Tigers on TV, you're not missing much... and this new play by play guy never stops talking. No wonder CMo is on personal leave.

The rumor is addiction/substance abuse. I hope that isn’t true.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 8:42 pm Anything innocuous that results in C-Mo talking less is a good thing.
That said, I certainly do NOT wish any hardship on him. Whenever I read someone is on leave for "personal reasons," that makes me nervous. I hope everything is OK health wise.

Re: Tiger Baseball on TV
The last couple of years, I've been getting my Tigers TV fix mostly through the MLB YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@MLB). You get just the highlights, and you get a variety of broadcast voices, from both teams.Art Van Damme wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 12:57 pm It’s been a few weeks since Xfinity pulled the plug on Bally.

While I don't miss C-Mo I've had enough of Dan Petry's "Everything is always rosy" even if their losing 8-1.
