The far northwestern LP is in the cool air. It is a blustery 67 degrees in Charlevoix right now. Mid 70s at Pellston and Harbor Springs.

It is also a cool if not chilly afternoon across the entire upper peninsula.

Massive temperature difference between Charlevoix and TVC and between Charlevoix and Gaylord!

I saw Port Sanilac also only hit 82 today. Had an idea to drive up there, but that's out of the cards for now.

Sirens were going off in Livonia last night 6/17 around 11:20 PM, I turned on mt TV and nothing was being said or no crawls. I guess after the no sirens about the tornado last week no one wasn't going to get caught short handed.

Very strong winds just above the surface are showing up on radar on the NE side of Ann Arbor right now (near Domino Farms).

Downbursts with 70 mph winds are possible.

Zero severe weather info on screen on Loco 4 for some reason. Other stations are doing a decent job.

7 Is the only one that has sent app alerts and they have promptly done so for all the warnings tonight. 2 might have done one earlier for Lenawee County. 4 Seems to be on some sort of downward spiral or something.

2 did the same thing as 4 just now except they just said “Severe Thunderstorm warnings in effect for several cities in southeast Michigan”. Seems a little too unspecific.

Clueless NWS projected peak winds of 50 mph. I had gusts to at least 70 mph here. I believe a downburst likely caused the damage.

It's almost as if weather can be unpredictable sometimes.

Significant damage in my neighborhood. Almost all of Beverly Hills has no power. Enormous silver maple on street behind me snapped like a twig. A limb landed across three yards, including mine, and damaged two green giant arborvitae and a fir tree. Branches strewn everywhere.

No severe thunderstorm warning from NWS for areas east of Orchard Lake Rd in Oakland County. The cell weakened and then reintensified as it moved across Telegraph toward my area.

That was kind of a strange situation… they even said partly cloudy overnight with no mention of rain and it started pouring at 2am…

14 mile is a trough from West to East. Both 13 and Maple are higher and weather just seems to channel along that route.
