Weather Hype

Unread post by BKRPDM »

Four or five days predicted in the 90s next week, and our weather folks are acting like it’s something that’s never happened before!

Back in 1988, we had 39 days with temps 90 degrees or above, and 3 of those were in the 100s. I don’t remember that much hype back then.

It todays news all kind of weather gets super hyped, one person locally who does a nice job is Mike Taylor especially during winter season, he doesn’t go all crazy if he feels the forecast is not that bad.

The “freak out” meter he uses for snow is pretty accurate :)

Not to mention temps have been below average for April - June

88 & 2012 were quite hot hitting 100 a couple of times for both summers and not much rain for 2 or 3 months as well. I'll be in the AC for this heat wave only time I'd be outside be in a pool otherwise I'm indoors.
