"Beep beep" intro to TV8 traffic updates...

It's starting to get annoying....
WOOD-TV meteorologist Scott Larson, who handles weather reports on News 8's 4 to 5pm news block, blurts out a little "beep beep" before he tags his weather reports with brief traffic updates.
I don't think the weather staff should have to also do traffic. Until several months ago, a separate studio reporter handled it. But let's have a smoother, more professional transition.... perhaps a traffic sounder as on radio traffic reports???

I would rather hear a “beep beep” on TV than hear it on my radio while driving in heavy traffic, aka WGRD Road Rage Traffic…

You're forgetting the people who put on the morning news while they're getting ready for work. Traffic reports on TV are handy to know what the commute will be like ahead of time.

Me thinks he may have been facetious.......although I did have my TV in my county truck back in the 80's. Just a lil battery one but I watched the noon news during lunch.

....noticed that WOOD-TV meteorologist Scott Larson has stopped doing his "beep beep" as he transitions from weather to traffic reports during the 4-5pm afternoon newscast. Did he get a memo from management to drop it? Or did he decided on his own that it had run its course?

They are useful in the mornings, evenings not so much. What I think is stupid is when they waste precious on-air time telling us the time it's taking to get to certain towns from downtown, when it's only 2 or 3 minutes longer than normal. "it's 9 minutes to Rockford tonight instead of the usual 7" or "it's 12 minutes to Jenison instead of the usual 9". The people that came from big cities have to be laughing their ass off! And another thing! They used to give flight info, whether they're running on time or delayed, not sure they do that anymore, but who the heck is getting their flight info from Meghan Bunchmann on News8??
