I thought he said he would like to retire by the end of the year. Not quite as dramatic as you are suggesting.

It's also been discussed for a while.
T’Variuness King wrote: Tue Jun 04, 2024 3:13 pm It’s a retirement. Tom told management months ago his intentions of leaving. This gave them time to get resumes and interviews set up.

That seems like one hell of salary for the area.

Our area loses when Tom leaves. I have more respect for him as a chief. I heard the stories about him Being demanding... but I think he is passionate about his work.

Good for Tom - always a smile, always a pro on-air.

Retirement of two of the market's wx long-timers - one from each of the two 'stations' here - and all within the timespan of about a year...

Mark Watkins' retirement at the end of November '23 and O'Hare's upcoming retirement will leave Joe Charlevoix and Michael Stevens as the market's wx long-timers.

Me, too... he's the best they've got.

I'm guessing he doesn't want it, though...

How long has Stevens been at 9&10?

And you probably right. He enjoys his gaming show (nothing wrong with that).

Retiring to the da EUP, eh? Good on ya, Tom! All the best after 20 years...

The box of Puffs on the anchor desk as Tom & Adam exchanged good-byes @ ~6:30p was a nice touch, too.
