It’s early for our annual yard sign unscientific poll but I saw far fewer Trump flags while meandering around nowhere today.

Does anyone doubt that Trump would carry out his promise to be a dictator on day 1?

The only thing I know is that we will never see a Nixon '72 or Reagan '84 ever again. I think even Mondale's mom voted for Reagan in 1984.
It will continue to be the usual suspects in blue and in red, a surprise and a down-to-the-wire outcome.

Until enough Boomers die off that’s true… but eventually things tip dramatically blue unless the Republicans drastically change their strategy. Millennials and Gen Z aren’t gonna be thrilled with running this playbook in 20 years. Demographics are something the GOP can’t outrun and can’t outrig.Mega Hertz wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 6:57 pm The only thing I know is that we will never see a Nixon '72 or Reagan '84 ever again. If women, Blacks, and the LGBT community cannot vote, conservatives will hold power in perpetuity. Don’t think it can’t happen.Rate This wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 7:04 pmUntil enough Boomers die off that’s true… but eventually things tip dramatically blue unless the Republicans drastically change their strategy. NEVER EVER COMPLY WITH FASCISM!!!
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

I saw a "Trump 2024 - Fight the rig" sign today on my way across the state. Of course it a single-wide with a car on blocks...
283,000,000 Americans didn't vote for Trump.

As generations age, they tend to shift more conservative. People I'm sure said the same thing 55 years ago when the Boomers were out doing the hippie thing.Rate This wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 7:04 pmUntil enough Boomers die off that’s true… but eventually things tip dramatically blue unless the Republicans drastically change their strategy. Re: Does anyone doubt that Trump would carry out his promise to be a dictator on day 1?
Probably too early for mass amounts of signs yet. No doubt many Trump voters that haven't joined his cult won't be overly loud about their support for him. But at the end of the day, as big of a piece of shit that he is, without a meaningful alternative most of them will hold their nose and vote for him over Dementia Joe.
Re: Does anyone doubt that Trump would carry out his promise to be a dictator on day 1?
Actually people’s political views are generally formed in their 20’s and the parties move around. The idea the people themselves become more conservative as they age is a myth. Few of those hippies are running around supporting Trump now.Graham Wellington wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 9:36 pmAs generations age, they tend to shift more conservative. I was a hippie back in the sixties and, yes, I've become more conservative. Back then I was a communist, now I'm a socialist.
But occasionally I run into one of my old comrades and they've sold out completely. They've joined the Liberal Party and they're in the insurance business or the Rotary Club.

Wasn't the context of his "dictatorship" comment about restarting the wall and oil drilling ?

He mentioned those right after but I have a large amount of debt and a laundry list of things to sell including several bridges if you’re willing to take him at his word…craig11152 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 6:32 am Wasn't the context of his "dictatorship" comment about restarting the wall and oil drilling ?

Actually I went back and checked. It was all part of one continuous statement. Not an afterthought. And no I don't take him at his word but there are two way's to look at that.Rate This wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 8:56 amHe mentioned those right after but I have a large amount of debt and a laundry list of things to sell including several bridges if you’re willing to take him at his word…craig11152 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 6:32 am Wasn't the context of his "dictatorship" comment about restarting the wall and oil drilling ?
1. He is actually the next Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Mussolini just waiting to to seize power, overthrow Congress and do away with elections
2. He is another politician making "promises" that will never happen, or partially happen at best.
If you think #1 is the answer how many bridges do want to buy?
