Ron Cameron
Re: Ron Cameron
I wonder if The Ghost of Ron Cameron has teamed up with The Ghost of Al Capone at The Fenton Hotel?
Re: Ron Cameron
And then he has some of his boys “bump him on” and it sends him back to life.
Re: Ron Cameron
You guys are super confused - the Ron Cameron that I posted about wasn't your RC!

Followed by "what are you doing here?!"
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron would try to leverage his friendship with Denny McLain, to show his street cred with the underworld.
Re: Ron Cameron
At the one month anniversary of Ron's death, here is a parody of a song made famous by Bob Hope, one of Ron's neighbors during the 1990s (https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... 15#p741300).

Thanks for the memory
Of sports talk on the air,
The stories that you shared,
The questions
That you always asked
That always showed you cared
You were Superfan
Thanks for the memory
Of restaurants that you bought
The pleasure that they brought
The sudden understanding
They weren't worth just what you thought,
And then you moved on.
You would rage over small things
Get angry by only a slight thing
We wondered if you did the right thing,
Oh, well, that's life, I guess,
We loved your mess.
Thanks for the memory
Of ads that came and went
That helped you pay the rent
The breaks for advertising
That we never thought would end
But they kept you on.
Thanks for the memory
Of Cowboy, Greg, and Kurt
The comments they would blurt
They helped you fill your air time,
With opinions, wit, and mirth,
Oh they loved to chat.
Thanks for the memory
Of programs with Bob Page
All filled with jokes and rage
There's lots of folks who thought that
You should both be in a cage
You're still on YouTube
We said goodbye with Lance Parrish,
Now memories we all have to cherish,
Your friends did a show as a tribute
With many intelligent salutes
No tears, no fuss,
Hooray for us.
Strictly entre nous,
Ronnie, how are you?
And how are all
Those little dreams
That never did come true?
Awfully glad I heard you,
Cheerio and toodle-loo
Thank you,
Thank you so much.

Bobbert, you must have a cubbyhole office in the Brill Building down on Tin Can Alley. Keep up the good work. You might just end up in the Mock & Troll Hall Of Fame.

Thanks. I like your puns—I've sometimes thought of doing a Ron parody in the style of Gilbert & Sullivan.Majik wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 10:50 amAnd the hits keep on coming!Bobbert wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 9:58 am At the one month anniversary of Ron's death, here is a parody of a song made famous by Bob Hope, one of Ron's neighbors during the 1990s (https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... 15#p741300).

Bravo, Bobbert! Each stanza a classic. Ron must have been a neighbor of Bob Hope in his millionaire days.Bobbert wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 9:58 am At the one month anniversary of Ron's death, here is a parody of a song made famous by Bob Hope, one of Ron's neighbors during the 1990s (https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... 15#p741300).

Re: Ron Cameron
On this monthiversary I still cannot bring myself to cast off my Yellow Pages (or my baseball trivia questions, for that matter). In some alternative universe, I'm thinking there must be another one-man operation in need of a 2023 copy of the Oakland South Central Yellow Pages.
Re: Ron Cameron
Thanks. It gets kind of poignant towards the end—I only had to change a few words.Momo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 11:05 amBravo, Bobbert! Each stanza a classic. Re: Ron Cameron
Maybe Keith from Oak Park could nominate Ron for the Northern Detroit Suburbs Sports Hall of Fame. That's where Ron spent most of his final years living and selling ads. It might also help Keith channel energy from his unsuccessful attempt to have Sergei Federov's number retired by the Red Wings. That effort suffered a big blow with the passing of Ron, who provided Keith with access to many hockey personalities.Majik wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 11:13 amYeah, I had first considered Allen Park but thought that the obscureness of Melvindale was a better fit for Ron’s brokered image.Bobbert wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 10:24 amAnd if residency is a qualification for enshrinement in a local sports hall of fame, there would be many choices for Ron.Majik wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 10:11 pmSince the downriver area seemed to be a staple on Ron’s migration route, maybe he will someday be enshrined in the Melvindale Sports Hall Of Fame.Momo wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 12:16 pm Wherever he may be, Ron must be kvelling at the news that that good/great man - & would-be biographer - Ted Kulfan has landed in the Dearborn Sports HOF:

I'd pick Allen Park, because of the downriver affinity you mention, and the publicity he brought to the cultural amenities of the Allen Park Motor Lodge.
