Momo wrote: Sun Feb 25, 2024 10:01 am I remember a few years back when a 75ish Ron had former Wing & later successful restaurateur Bugsy Watson as a guest. Of course, Ron, who turned every "interview" into an episode of "This is Your Life," with him as the subject, had to talk about HIS career in restaurants & his then-intention to open a new one. Barely concealing his laughter, Watson asked, "How old are you?!"
I had a chance to eat at Watson's restaurant when it was in its "higher class" stage, the kind of place with tablecloths, indoor/outdoor seating, etc. He even came by and talked to the patrons. I can't imagine Ron doing that.
I’m remembering more of that particular exchange with Watson. When Bugsy seemed to question why Ron, at his age, wanted to get back into the volatile restaurant business, Ron suggested his role would be limited to signing autographs … for the fans.

Bob Page and Martin are going back and forth on x about the city of Warren not releasing Ron's remains until they can locate a relative.
Also, Page is talking about someone starting a gofundme so Ron doesn't end up in a potters' field.

I recorded Ron's interview with Bryan "Bugsy" Watson involving the restaurant business among other subjects, which occurred on January 23, 2021. Mr. Watson died less than six months later on July 8, 2021.

Page spent much of the interview making wise cracks at Ron's expense, repeatedly mentioning how almost no one was listening to the show. It was actually a rather amusing segment!

The tweets from Bob exude a personality similar to the one I remember hearing on the air two decades ago. 😁
I have to believe Bob's aware of Ron's immense fandom here. I wonder how that is received.

The coverage here of that interview:

From reviewing the contemporaneous posts, I doubt this one makes the cut for the "best of" catalogue for Friday's show. Where are these tapes coming from? Here? Or did the station keep tapes of Ron's show? That would surprise me.

Ron sounded like he could have been a candidate for the Hoarders show.
That's probably why Ron and Cowboy got along

"Where are these tape coming from?" With an MP3 recorder I made the recordings either off the stream (WPON and WDTK) or from the podcasts (WDTK) plus what I could download from various websites.

This made me think of something. Is it possible for someone to record the Friday tribute show and post a link to it here for those of us that might miss it live?

Frank, I was referring to the tapes of the "best of Ron" we're led to believe will be a part of the tribute show on Friday.

I checked with Bob - he thinks you all are gigantic losers who need to get a life.
