So just to review...these are our options. Two men, old farts. One is a racist, hateful shitbag and the other needs a bag to shit in. One is a liar and shit stirrer, the other isn't lying....he just forgets everything. This is the shining city on a hill? This is the "future"? What a joke. If only we could convince enough people to vote third party and end this nightmare. Pathetic.

That reminds me of the scene in Oz where Beecher shits on Schillinger in the gym.

I pretty much despise Trump.
But to be accurate his comment was mostly about the number of immigrants here illegally.
Unless one is a proponent of an open border policy then the number of people flooding in here without formal permission should be a concern.

b]Netherlands Votes to Opt Out of EU’s Asylum and Migration Policy[/b]
The Dutch Parliament has recently voted in favor of a significant decision that could potentially mark the end of mass-immigration to the Netherlands. The vote allows the country to opt out of the European Union’s (EU) asylum and migration policy, giving it more control over its borders and immigration rules.
The decision to opt out of the EU’s policy reflects a growing sentiment among Dutch lawmakers and citizens that national interests should take precedence over supranational agreements.
New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

I'll give the Dutch a pass. They gave me the Van Halen brothers.

The vast majority of the illegal people here didn’t come across the border. They are visa overstays. That means they came here legally and have overstayed their welcome. You can blame the 1990 reform to the visa system largely… it was intended to help companies obtain cheaper labor that could be here on a temporary basis.craig11152 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 9:50 amI pretty much despise Trump.

That is simply not true. There doesn't seem to be any recent legitimate data but as of 2017 the number tossed out was 42% .Rate This wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:58 pmThe vast majority of the illegal people here didn’t come across the border. Now it could easily be more than 50% at this point but it isn't a "vast majority" unless you can give me a link to a dependable source.

4 and 5 are especially relevant but read the whole thing… quite interesting.craig11152 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 1:18 pmThat is simply not true. That article was dated April of 2021. Things are vastly different since then read below...
The 2022 fiscal year set a record of 2.2 million illegal border crossings. These numbers do not include crossings at official checkpoints. Including those, migrant crossings in the 2023 fiscal year hit a record high.
Source, the New York times.

Did you conveniently ignore where they talk about an ebb and flow to this? Vastly different isn’t the term I would use though the pandemic really ground things to a halt.Bryce wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 2:31 pmThat article was dated April of 2021. Things are vastly different since then read below...

That’s also crossings… so that includes folks tossed back across the border and folks who got asylum and folks who escaped. That’s almost apples and oranges with what the other article measures. It makes it sound worse than it is.

Re: "Immigrants are poisoning the blood of this country"
True but Trump didn't exactly display Nazi like actions during his 4 years. Unless you think not making people wear masks is Nazi stuff. Or perhaps weakening the power of assorted federal agencies is Nazi stuff. How about kicking Covid response decisions to the individual states? Maybe not the best decision but it's not a Nazi decision.Lester The Nightfly wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 5:52 pmY'all are welcome to spin it however you wish but Nazi talk is still Nazi talk.
