It's like when you see the first robin of spring. You know the season is changing.

When radio people start to lose their jobs, you know it's close to Christmas.

Baligian was one of the few bright spots at that station. If one person had to go, it should have been either Guy Gordon or Steve Courtney (not much of a role for him as it is).

Does Courtney slide over to Sportswrap, or is it just Lomas Brown (who is a better sports host than color commentator, though he isn't very good at either).

It looks like it's just Lomas, per their website. Sean's name is still on the byline, but every other mention has been removed.

I hope 97.1 hires Sean. He can backfill Jim Costa's prior time slots.
He could also replace Spartard afternoons and no tears will be shed.

Last night, it was Lomas Brown, and KEN Brown. :lol Makes me wonder if they are making Kenny stick around for another hour, after Mitch goes off.

As for Steve Courtney, they would be fools to get rid of him. The guy is all over the place. He's basically a one man Sports Department.

MW, Sportswrap used to be 7PM-Midnight. If they want to resurrect an old show, do it all the way. Who's going to sponsor an 1 hour show? By the way, Chris Renwick had the idea to bring back Sportswrap. 7PM to 10PM would be perfect, but knowing the suits at WJR, we'd probably have to endure "The Greening of the Great Lakes" or some similar piece of crap show, at 6PM.

When was Sportswrap 7-12? I don’t recall it being on for 5 hours a night.

I have no ironclad recollection, but it may have been Sportsrap 7-10, because a replay of JP McCarthy's "Focus" used to take up the 10 p.m. hour, a long news then Sports Final ran 11-11:30 and "Night Flight 760" with Jay Roberts began at 11:30. They apparently ran Jay off in '87, so forgive my citing what I listened to quite regularly when it was Frank Beckmann's show, with Rich Kincaid coming in several years later to bolster the roster.

If sportswrap were to be resurrected the perfect host would be Ron,Cameron. After more than 40 years Ron Cameron, would become relevant again.

David Newman had a couple of stints on WJR evenings 8pm to 11 or so. 80s 90s. I used to get the big boy restaurant foldout mini tiger schedule and prominently circle the nights the tigers were off because I knew David Newman would be on.
