Kyle McCord has entered the transfer portal.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: College Football 23-24
Didn't see that one coming. Watch Ward from Wazzou go there. Dante Moore?

This has to be hell for coaches, having to teach entirely new systems to entitled kids who only do a limited number of hours practicing and studying the for football, when they have multiple other priorities they are learning how to balance poorly, all while spending $1mil+ a year like drunken sailors.

I saw the ESPN interview in its entirety live and agree with Harbaugh that players should share in the revenue generated. The athletic conferences and universities generate absurd amounts of money from television and merchandising contracts. The players sacrifice their bodies, mental health, and time on behalf of their schools.
The academic scholarships are certainly valuable, but I think some sort of standardized cash stipend would certainly be appropriate.
What I would not support is pro-style individual player jackpot contracts.

Currently, some schools are using NIL to pay that individual players to come to their school. It's been alleged that Ohio State is paying prospects to visit.

In fairness, this link doesn't suggest this is limited to Ohio State.

Re: College Football 23-24
What are people like Uncle Ned (or whoever that UofM alumni is) going to do with NIL legislation?
What about let's just let them play football.

Re: College Football 23-24
I'm no expert here just some guy who pays a little attention.
I think there are a few problems with a University directly paying players.
For one a vast majority of Athletic Departments lose money. They are not turning a profit.
Now within those losers there are some football programs or men's basketball teams that make money. But the kicker is a money making football team or basketball team is part of the athletic department, they aren't an autonomous institution. They don't keep their profits to themselves. They go in to a big pool.
Now here is why its hard to get around that.... Title IX regulations for any Institution that takes any Federal funding. I don't think under Title IX Michigan could pay football players and not pay every other player in every other sport.

Likely an SEC bias thing. I'm not saying Michigan is definitely going to win, but the advanced stats put the team in a good position.Honeyman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 05, 2023 12:03 pmhttps://sports.yahoo.com/bettors-are-he ... 57331.htmlcraig11152 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 6:48 pmIf I was going to bet I would bet Alabama on the money line so if I bet I need to jump on it.
