Ohio statewide EAS test
Was just randomly listening to WRKZ Columbus from my home in Petersburg. Noted that an Ohio statewide EAS test broke in. Decided to spin the dial and see who decided to participate today lol
All of the Toledo FMs broke except WRVF and WIOT. Don't think WPFX or WJUC did either.
Definitely did:
WVKS, WRQN, WXKR, WJZE, WKKO, WPOS, WQQO, WTOD
Didn't really think to check the translators. Thought someone might find interesting?

Re: Ohio statewide EAS test
Maybe they were celebrating the legalization of weed in Ohio and forgot to do the test.

Indeed, very interesting, but not surprising. Thanks for the info.syntheticexctasy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 9:55 am Don't think ...... WJUC did either.

The box that many broadcasters won’t look outside of was made in 1969 and hasn’t changed significantly since.

Re: Ohio statewide EAS test
Legally, stations have up to 60 minutes to relay a statewide monthly test.

Re: Ohio statewide EAS test
Why would a station delay a test 24 hours? If it was an actual alert for, say, a tornado warning, it wouldn't do any good to delay it the next day.organman95 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 2:10 pmOr 24-hours later. - but that is the maximum allowed delay

I agree, but we are talking about a test.rugratsonline wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 10:42 pmWhy would a station delay a test 24 hours? That said, stations do not have to activate the EAS for anything except tests and Presidential alerts.
