Roger Whittaker dies

Unread post by matt1 »

Singer songwriter Roger Whittaker (of 1970 "New World In The Morning" & 1975 "The Last Farewell") has died at 87 years old. My late parents liked his music being played on WGER "Beautiful 102" in the 70's & 80's!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Whittaker

Got the rare 1977 "The Best Of" (12 song CD) which was reissued either in 1988 or 1989 BUT RCA Victor took it out the market in 1990. The song "Durham Town" is the French version.

He had a soft/mellow singing voice, which was well-suited for remakes/covers of others' hits...

The Al Capps Orchestra "New World In The Morning". Heard this with my late parents back then on "Beautiful 102" WGER (former 102.5 FM in Bay City) during the mid & late 70's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSzVedm ... stra-Topic
