Ch 8/Nexstar About to Get Bombarded with Callers

We are 3 days away from the Lions kickoff on NBC and all DirecTV customers are still without Nexstar owned WOOD TV. Their game of chicken they're playing with DirecTV over a new agreement is about to get ugly with football fans. Think about it, first the first time in forever the Lions are on Nat'l TV to open the season and thousands can't see it as we sit here today. Good luck with the phone calls this week WOOD.

I Imagine Charter spectrum has been getting bombarded with calls by angry sports fans and parents, Cause EVERY ESPN and disney network is GONE from spectrum.

Spectrum is right to drop Disney. Should Spectrum be believed, they were agreeing to the premium increase in exchange for free subscriber access to the Disney+/hulu/espn+ ad supported bundle. Of course Disney only wanted to offer Spectrum subscribers a discount.

DirecTV has shrunk from the expanded broadband access making streaming cheaper for many, with less regional sports. WXMI was off Dish for an extended time in the past.

The thing is both sides expect viewers to pick a side, when in reality there's nothing much we can do but sit back and watch while both sides argue and/or negotiate.

Agreed! These annual pissing contests you see with greedy TV stations and even greedier cable/satellite companies are as tiresome as they are predictable. I rely on my good old-fashioned roof-top antenna for all my TV channels: always FREE and never threatens to withold programming!

We use an HDHomeRun box to stream the antenna channels over our WiFi as well. We got sick of paying crazy fees for YoutubeTV. We couldn't be happier!
