I don't like KT for traffic. Unless you listen with a 140% focus you may not grasp her report which she rattles off in FAST FORWARD.

Jim Hughs is so bad I thought he was mimicking someone. “Buhbuhbuhbuhbuhbuhbuhbuhbuhbbuhbuhbuhbhub” is what all his traffic reports sound like.

Do I see a “Jim Hughs Stinks” thread here in the future? :razz

They got rid of Roberta and gutted the place. What do they expect.

WWJ ranked 18th in May in P25-54... so far this year, it's ranked 15th, 17th, 15th, 18th, 18th.

Going back to the start of 2021, it has ranked no better than 14th, and no worse than 20th.
Newsman123 either was misled or is putting an overly positive spin on the numbers to mislead us.

WWJ was 18th in A25 to 54 for three straight surveys, and it sounds like each of the past six surveys were within the station's usual rank range dating back to the start of 2021.

To go from 15th to 18th may or may not be a big drop depending on how many percentage points separate #15 from #18.
Let’s be very clear. Audacy refuses to acknowledge that the only way the station will recover, even marginally, is to move to FM. They’re so focused on LA and the bull shit narrative that they keep telling they’ve lost sight of reality. AM sucks. Period.

Traffic and weather on the 8's is what they have been known for. Traffic and weather on the radio are obsolete, everyone under 50 gets both from their phones or GPS at a glance.

I couldn’t disagree more. I’m way under 50 and I use WWJ for the traffic and weather on the 8’s. I have all the latest technology when it comes to my cell phone and infotainment system in my car that gives me updates of traffic and weather (and ski conditions and movie times too, for some reason) and also find the traffic and weather on the 8’s to be more current and easier to access while on the road. I don’t have to take my eyes off the road while driving.

I understand KT perfectly.

If you can't understand KT, I hope you never get stuck in traffic in Chicago, and have to listen to WBBM. Chicago traffic, to most people from out of town may as well be given in Greek. :lol

To be clear - my "worst books" reference was to 6+ AQH share, not A25 to 54. That said, an 18th place showing in A25 to 54 is nothing to be proud of.

And starting June 30th, it’s a primary offense to look at a text on your phone while driving… or when at a red light, stop sign, etc. If the key is in the ignition and the vehicle is running… it’s a violation.

For plain speech what difference does AM make? WWJ has adequate signal to cover the Detroit Market.

The AM button has been used as the NEWS and TRAFFIC button for years. Going to FM just makes hard to find.

I have seen this markets where they flipped to an AM-FM simulcast. No one changed, because the AM button was used to quickly get to News and Traffic. They lost 4 million in billing because of loss of FM music format.
