Seen on WMOM Facebook page that they are getting their new station equipment up on the tower just north of Scottville by Ziehms propane (old z95 Wkzc) tower . Probably 99.9fm. Wondering what the coverage area will be.
If you search on fcc fm query and search for Custer mi. You can find the construction permit.
PS. Wish WMOM would go back toward top40/chr. They did it way better than WKlA does and coverage is Better too. Signal comes in almost to Mesick

An even worse example is the 92.3 translator in Saginaw that went active fairly recently of 104.1 (Pinconning). That translator probably makes reception of 92.5 The Castle nearly impossible on most radios in Saginaw and west of Saginaw and also WIDL 92.1 to the east of Saginaw.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 11:10 am Probably will complicate reception of WVIB 100.1 in the Baldwin and Idlewild areas, though, which is unfortunate. Those Muskegon County class A signals have surprisingly good reception in that region much of the time.

Gold-based country would make sense so they're not competing directly with the 800-pound gorilla that is WTCM-FM.
Speaking of good signals, that one makes it farther south on US-31 than WKZC! I'm usually able to carry 'TCM to around the Oceana/Muskegon county line (and is rock-solid to the big hill south of Hart). 94.9, 96.3, 97.7, and 101.5 usually go kaput around the Shelby/New Era area. 98.7 makes it a bit farther before WFGR takes over while 102.7 (despite having on paper an inferior signal to all of the other frequencies mentioned) usually gets close to Muskegon. I will sometimes hear WMOM in the Grand Rapids and Allegan areas

Re: New station coming to Ludington area
There's not enough potential revenue in Ludington to support all of these signals.
AE's up north have their car radios welded to WTCM, regardless of what format/station they are selling.
But yes, I know, I know, radio is only one part of the business...hotels, resorts, casinos. Up north is all "swimming pools, and movie stars"
My friend Chuck Hedstrom ran a chewing gum and bailing wire operation at the former WMTE/WRRK 40+ years ago, but every break was full.
