I believe that Ron purchased two hours of available time and supplanted what would otherwise have been programmed oldies music.

If I heard him right, he has purchased five weeks? Big money paid up front for RonDan in Northville wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 8:07 pmI believe that Ron purchased two hours of available time and supplanted what would otherwise have been programmed oldies music.

Re: Ron Cameron
My take, This show is a bigger trainwreck than ever before. Ron sounds like this was his first rodeo. The advertisers are dumber than I thought, they may as well flush whatever money they give Ron, down the toilet. The dynamics between host and producer appear like a ticking time bomb. The buzzing sound is extremely annoying, like turn the dial annoying. 7 callers for the big open? I don't see this holding a future
Re: Ron Cameron
My understanding is Sima requires a month in advance if you want a regular time slot. I thought it was at the beginning of the month but apparently not.
If Ron doesn’t get what he wants (he won’t) he’s dangerously thin on options. Probably 910 or 1440, the latter has a horrendous signal just like WPON. He won’t do a podcast. He had a good thing going at WDTK but blew it.
For the record, his callers were Mr Positive, Dan in Hartland, Bob in Novi (likely a Buzzboard poster or lurker), Kurt, Charlie in Macomb Twp, Keith in Oak Park twice, and Mark in Warren. Did I miss anybody?

This is about as accurate of an assessment one can make about this talentless, insensitive, narcissistic buffoon and his product.Mr.Transistor wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 9:49 pm My take, This show is a bigger trainwreck than ever before. I completely agree with you. In addition, Ron acted like he was running the radio station and was going to get some big improvements made.Mr.Transistor wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 9:49 pm My take, This show is a bigger trainwreck than ever before. The strange thing is—I expected all of this. As the Grateful Dead once sang, "Lately it occurs to me, what a long strange trip it's been."

This video helps to explain Ron’s following:

When all is said and done, he makes good toast!

When you think of great combos in the sports world, after a big trade, free agent pickup it always takes time to jell. I expect improvement today from the radio dream team of Ron and Martin

Re: Ron Cameron
Since we can now no longer rely on Cowboy for his "This Date in History" entries, today marks both the 25th anniversary of the death of Frank Sinatra, who, like Ron, did it "his way," & the series finale of Seinfeld, like Ron, a show about "nothing."
Re: Ron Cameron
With today being Mother's Day I will be busy with family and thus can't listen to R Sizzle.
I expect fellow loyal Cameronites to keep me posted on Comerica's attendance, Ron's meeting with Sima, and the seven callers.

Bobbert's recording from December 12, 1978 of Ron broadcasting on WXYZ-AM is a fascinating contrast to what we've become accustomed to hear from Mr. Cameron's transmissions in the past few(?) years. Many callers and a guest from the then-current Red Wings organization (Bud Lynch) made the show interesting and entertaining.

Similar boat here, I will be able to catch the first hour, since it’s Denny McLain second hour-supposedly, I won’t be missing much and I know our “Cameronites” will keep us informed on what we missed. Looking forward to a rebound show with Ron and Martin as they knock the cobwebs off
Re: Ron Cameron
Denny next hour. Ray Scott next Sunday. Nick Libett. who was said to be on next week, is now on in two weeks.
