Re: Ron Cameron
Can't you just picture Ron right now, sitting at Ram's Horn, combing over the newspaper sports sections, jotting down ideas for his re-launch on WPON. So much to talk about.
Re: Ron Cameron
When I visited Mr. Positive last week, I overheard a call in which our (very angry) hero confirmed this bit of news.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 8:20 amHis Twitter page says he will be, but who knows with the legend of Ron CameronRound Six wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 8:08 amI did a quick swim thru the last 10 pages or so of this thread. So if I missed it, I apologize.Dan in Northville wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2023 9:18 pm Ron Cameron Sportstalk still not listed on the WPON website schedule for Saturday or Sunday. Probably still waiting for Ron's check to clear.
Other than Mr. Positive, is there any "official" word that Cameron is actually going to be on the air this weekend?
Re: Ron Cameron
My concern, too.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 7:15 am Due to many of us having to stream the show, the WPON website must be at full capacity, hopefully they have upped the bandwidth to handle the traffic

The bantering continued:Bobbert wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 12:00 pmBob Page: So, cuz we all know Ronnie does not write this stuff - he never learned to type! Um, who are you?radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 7:19 pm Bob Paige just responded to a post on Rons Twitter account-basically saying Ron can’t type who is this writing this stuff?
RonCameronSportsTalk: You're jealous of my tweets?
This bantering brings back great memories of the 80s.
BP: No, but many are jealous of your education - whoever you are - something Mr. Cameron himself does not possess.
RCST: Oh, calling me Mr. Cameron, Ok, Mr. Page.
Re: Ron Cameron
Cowboy only seems to be able to call when there's a toll-free number. I've never heard him on WPON.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 7:12 am Question though, many have said cowboy won’t be calling in, if I was understanding the posts right. I ge the Canada thing, but when Ron had been on WPON in the past,, cowboy doesn’t/can’t call in?
Re: Ron Cameron
If Ron does make his great comeback this afternoon:
Will he call WDTK a "Mickey Mouse" station?
How soon will he start complaining about the working conditions at WPON?
Will Martin return, much to the utter dismay (or maybe perverse delight) of Kidcat?
Will this be Ron's opening statement:

Can anyone recall if Ron had a theme song when he was on WXYZ-AM from 1979-1981?

Talk about a change in dynamics for the show without no cowboy and “Comboro’s” own Windsor DaveMomo wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 9:42 amCowboy only seems to be able to call when there's a toll-free number. Re: Ron Cameron
Bobbert, thanks for the mp3 file! The recording starts with Ron admitting he made an error in stating that Budd Lynch was involved with the Detroit Pistons!
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron has called WPON a Mickey Mouse operation and he would never return. Funny what happens when you get booted off a station for language and out of options.
Would Sima install a TV just so Ron can do play by play and tell us how empty Comerica is?

Re: Ron Cameron
Ron may have to resort to reenactment via the telegraph feed, ala Ronald Regan back in the thirties doing Cub games.

I got my streaming all set yesterday so there are no delays on the big grand opening. They actually were playing some decent music. I also heard a 15 second spot from Scoop, touting his return to the airwaves on Saturday and Sunday at WPON from 3-5. It actually sounded like a well done spot. No fumbling with the Mike, no belching, whispering in the background.
Re: Ron Cameron
Teflon Ron may have to go deep into his well of anecdotes to fill in for those missing key components of his big broadcasts.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 9:53 amTalk about a change in dynamics for the show without no cowboy and “Comboro’s” own Windsor DaveMomo wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 9:42 amCowboy only seems to be able to call when there's a toll-free number.
