What the fuck does that even mean? As opposed to a “right wing nut”? I cant tell the leanings of any local news folks if I tried. They are reading standard copy written by 22 year old producers and going home. What makes him seem liberal? These “bias” arguments are so stupid and an insult to the hardworking local reporters and anchors.

99% of the time its not overt. Often its a tone, a pause or a quick side eye look. Sometimes it may even be completely unintentional. Occasionally just through time a lean will become apparent. Generally though its not the anchors; its the copy they are given to read or the choices in stories covered. The phrasing and choice of words gives it away most of the time. Which way do you think that 22 year old copy writer or producer is going to lean?

If it’s a tone, pause or side eye look then they are doomed. They can’t please everybody based on that. As for story selection and the way it’s presented… they could easily run BBC style reports… the powers that be don’t think that’ll sell.
