There's a thread titled "2023 Predictions" where the length of this thread has come under attack. I tried to defend us.

Thanks for your efforts, Bobbert. If lidoshuffle only knew that the "793 pages of useless B...S." doesn't even include the 80 deleted pages from the initial thread!Bobbert wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 9:50 am There's a thread titled "2023 Predictions" where the length of this thread has come under attack. To return to the recent theme involving posted songs speaking to our "devotion," here's yet another one, which, as I consider Ron's fealty to Al Avila, could also serve as Ron's theme song:

Re: Ron Cameron
Will Cowboy remember that tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of Roberto Clemente's plane crash death as he was seeking to deliver relief supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua? Is that also how Cory Lidle perished?
And will Ron piggyback the mention of Clemente to talk about his great friend, the (NOT) HOFer Howie Haak?
I'd like to imagine the ghost of Haak emerging to put Ron in his place:

It will be interesting to see if Ron equates Lidle's fatal joy ride around Manhattan with Clemente's tragic mission of mercy.Momo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 10:40 am Will Cowboy remember that tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of Roberto Clemente's plane crash death as he was seeking to deliver relief supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua? I have a book about baseball scouting titled "Dollar Sign on the Muscle." I was just reading the section about Haak. The author kept referring to Haak's old school attitudes and crude personal habits (like excessive swearing and messy tobacco chewing). It makes perfect sense that Haak and Ron became good friends.

What time is SportsTalk on live Saturday, 12/31/22?
Re: Ron Cameron
For the foreseeable future (yes, I know that doesn’t mean much in RonWorld), Saturdays are 1-3 & Sundays 3-5.

As of 4:30pm Eastern Standard Time, December 30, 2022, no change in the status of Sports Talk with Ron Cameron podcasts at WDTk's website. The latest podcast available is still from November 6, 2022.
Re: Ron Cameron
Thanks for chiming in on that thread. We've done a good job of giving examples of how the Ron Cameron thread continues on and on and on...Momo wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 10:28 amThanks for your efforts, Bobbert. Re: Ron Cameron
It really is bad that these podcasts have never gotten updated. If Ron actually have a f@ck about his show and his advertisers, he’d make sure to get these updated. It’s kinda led me to have a severely lowered interest in SportsTalk, even though I can read about each episode here.ShempLives wrote: ↑Fri Dec 30, 2022 4:32 pm As of 4:30pm Eastern Standard Time, December 30, 2022, no change in the status of Sports Talk with Ron Cameron podcasts at WDTk's website. Ron's remembrances of Barbara Walters:
"She was great, but she would have been even greater if she had asked her interviewees about their greatest thrill."
"She was one of the few people whose broadcasting career compared in length to mine."

As we say goodbye to 2022, let us remember two memorable moments.
My personal favorite call—on Sunday, March 6—in which Bill from Livonia says that Ron's show is "terrible," and Ron tells Bill to "stick it." The fun starts at about the 20 minute mark.

Sunday, July 24 was the day that the Buzzboard was officially banned from Ron's show. The announcement of the ban starts at about the 1 minute mark. Unfortunately, the first part of the call was not recorded—a great loss of historical source material.

Re: Ron Cameron
In all due modesty, the July 24, 2022 broadcast has a phone call from me starting around the 25:21 mark. This was my first attempt to get more podcasts available via WDTK's website. Ron maintained that the podcasts were available. The show started off with a call from "Mr. Positive," only to have Mr. Cameron make a preemptive statement, telling "Mr. P" not to mention the buzz board.
Re: Ron Cameron
Since Ron & Barbara were both big stars in the ABC firmament of the late '70s, perhaps their paths crossed. How Ron escaped Barbara's radar for her annual "10 Most Fascinating People" specials will always be a mystery.
Re: Ron Cameron
Looks like Bill heeded Ron's directive to never call back again. I love Ron's comeback that if his show's so bad, why is he the longest running sports talk show host in the world?! As if radio stations across the globe have been clamoring to secure his talents all these years.Bobbert wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 8:53 am As we say goodbye to 2022, let us remember two memorable moments.

Re: Ron Cameron
That was a pretty dramatic opening. I think it started something like this:ShempLives wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 10:31 am In all due modesty, the July 24, 2022 broadcast has a phone call from me starting around the 25:21 mark. Ron: Our first caller is Mr. Positive. Before you say anything, Mr. Positive, I want to talk to you about something.
Mr. P: What's that?
Ron: I don't want you mentioning this buzz talk or whatever it's called on the show anymore.
I think the podcast picks things up after that.
