Some drama at Loco 4
Re: Some drama at Loco 4
He will probably end up back in Flint, but I’m not sure his ego would support that. My guess is radio.
Re: Some drama at Loco 4
I’m pretty sure that was indeed a direct decree from corporate. Like the next three contracts that are up for renewal are not to be renewed. I don’t think in any way that was a local decision. They might have hated Carr, they might have loved Carr. It didn’t matter, their hands were tied. They might still love to have him back, or hate him.dial-it-in wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 6:08 pmSo, to summarize...tivoking wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 10:03 amCarr was let go at 2 as part of a mass layoff. Anyone who's contract was up, was let go. They only brought back Lee Thomas because many attacked Fox for letting him go. Carr got hired by WDIV the next day.dial-it-in wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:59 am Hes been given the boot at 2 and now 4. Coincidence or the start of a trend?
Hes been given the boot at 2 and now 4.
Thanks for clearing that up.
I think the three were Carr, Thomas, and Murray Feldman. I believe Feldman opted to simply retire.

He wont get hired in radio, unless its some shock jock garbage show. No one in the market is gonna touch him. He has a reputation as a toxic employee.
Re: Some drama at Loco 4
What radio station in the market would hire him? WJR won’t spend the money, and they have Kevin Dietz as it is. WFDF and their dozens of listeners?

All of that may indeed be true. The 3 you listed were the 3 that were let go...or "not renewed"...call it what you will.thekman wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 9:45 pmI’m pretty sure that was indeed a direct decree from corporate. Bottom line is that his presence on channel 2 was ended.
They sure made it work for Lee Thomas though. Just sayin'

They fired him over that?????? I’m not a Jason Carr fan and he probably shouldn’t have said anything. However, I don’t think thats grounds for job termination.unscopedaircheck wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 2:44 pm Here's the video that got him shitcanned

Seems kind of tame to warrant a termination and I dont even like the guy. That said...if they were looking for a reason...unscopedaircheck wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 2:44 pm Here's the video that got him shitcanned

I'm sure there's more to the story that's not being made public. My guess is this incident may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
Re: Some drama at Loco 4
He must've really hated Andrew Humphrey.

Re: Some drama at Loco 4
In that video he's referring to a FORMER coworker. In the earlier discussions I thought he was talking about current employees that caused his "discussion" with management, and then he went on the air and complained about THAT and then he was fired. I'm confused.
But, I'm curious. Who is this "worst person in the world" that recently left WDIV that he's referring to in THIS video?
EDIT Just saw motown's comment. Was it really Andrew? I've met Andrew and while I don't really know him at all, can't imagine how he'd ever fit into the "worst person in the world" descriptor!

I would agree. He did not name anyone, so nothing can be proven.Vee TeeVee wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 4:43 pm I'm sure there's more to the story that's not being made public. My guess is this incident may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
There had to have been fireworks along the way, or they simply wanted to cut ties.
Business has no shame and can jettison anyone for any reason. Especially, the broadcast business.

Graham Corporate wanted to get rid of a large salary and have one less Christmas bonus to pay out this year. They purposely made a mountain out of a molehill! Yet another corporation kissing its CEO's ass!
