Does anyone know if they get credit for the 99.3FM frequency and the 'worship' frequencies on 96.5FM & 98.9FM if someone just writes down 'JOY' in a diary? They could be eeking out a share of extra listening and working the system a bit with those translators.

I won't go over each rating shares this time but I will say that I-Heart continues to be successful with such popular and
professionally run top rated stations B-93, WOOD, and WSNX. The only Town Square station that isn't a bottom feeder is
WGRD. The only Cumulus station that is barely above a bottom feeder is WLAV and they need some real competition on
the radio for sure. It's been since November of 2020 since Grand Rapids has had a format change and that would make
the market more interesting. Two years without a format change makes commercial radio stale.
One of my ideas I had for Cumulus was that they could bring back WODJ with oldies on 107.3 FM and that had some
interesting responses. I know that the big companies don't view an oldies station that includes the 50 and 60's before
The Beatles and The Beach Boys as viable but the other side to consider is that WGVU-AM as "Real Oldies" beat out in
the overall surveys both "Blunder Country" and "The Brew" that flipped to "The Big 101.3 FM two years ago. I still say that
senior citizens have buying power and if oldies were done right it could go on for about five years. What they could do
is gradually reduce the amount of music before The Beatles and The Beach Boys and eventually flip to a classic hits
station that plays the 60's, 70's, and 80's like what WFGR did in the Len O' Kelly days. Meanwhile they could offer more
variety from the 60's and 70's with deeper cuts by The Beatles like what "Real Oldies" offered and perhaps by some
other artists too.

I hate most “active rock” stations programmed by Clownsquare (like Banana 101.5] as the butt rock is commonplace. I’m sorry but 70’s Aerosmith doesn’t belong on there…

I flip on the Banana when I’m down that way a couple times a month for work. They have improved somewhat but some of their older music from the 80’s seems way out of place.

Z93’s commercial breaks are NOTHING compared to 106.3 The Core’s. OMG having two 5-7 minute commercial breaks an hour is crazy. Then again, I’m sure a lot of them are trade offs for the current portable signs advertising their station in front of their advertisers

Let me toss this in concerning the spot breaks… stations I worked at in the 96-06 time frame were running 3 breaks, 4-5 min per break (many were 5), so up to 15 minutes (or more with local elements). To me, it feels like less music (content) with more frequent stopsets. Two breaks and stretching them sounds better than 3 full breaks.

I was at FGR for eight years and I never understood the almost militant reluctance they had to adding songs to the library. That 2.2 is what you get for rotating the same 220 songs year after year and saving the best music for the occasional "80s weekend".

On FGR I heard Michael Jackson played into Pink Floyd. Just awful.
