Scott Vertical seems like the perfect replacement for Bandyke. It's really too bad a station in Detroit, I'm looking at you Alt 98.7, doesn't pickup a talent like Scott Vertical. All the best to Martin Bandyke though. To spend 40 years in the radio business and so long at only a handful of stations, WDET and WQKL, seems a rarity in radio anymore. He was a great talent and will be missed on the airwaves.

107one is a very boring station, Dentist office radio. Bandyke is a subpar talent. Good to see he’s leaving. Vertical is 100% better for that station. Too bad 107one couldn’t get Darren Revell but he’s busy with his internet station Big Sonic Heaven out of Toronto.

Big Sonic Heaven isn't out of Toronto.

So where is it from? I always thought it was Toronto, but I could be mistaken.

If he’s so subpar then I wonder why he’s been at it for almost 40 years.

Bandyke is a solid jock, as is Vertical. I’m fine with him taking the reins if that happens. Also I can listen to 107one for more than a half hour and not get bored…wonder what that says about me…

Scott Vertical was announced as Martin Bandyke's replacement. Vertical will be a good fit for the station.

Martin Bandyke is a really great guy. He used to work at Car City Classics in St. Clair Shores that was a used record store. Every time I used to see him in there we would talk about all different kinds of music. I hope only good things for him.
