Christmas Music Watch 2022

Mariah is thawing.

When is Jay Towers flipping the switch? Might we see someone else try to take on WNIC? Will WOMC stack the Christmas tunes?

So Christmas music was playing while I was outside working in jeans and a t-shirt? Lame.

WNIC Christmas playlist has been unlistenable for the last 10 years.
I don't want to hear 5 different versions of White Christmas and Let it Snow over and over all day.

It would be different if the playlist had at least more than 10 unique song titles. I wouldn't mind hearing a different version of the same song every couple hours, but they literally just play the same 10 songs all day.

I remember in 2013 thinking I guess I don't get to listen to Christmas music this year, then suddenly WOMC flipped and had this massive playlist, and I literally had it on 24/7. At work, in bed, everywhere. I learned songs I had never even heard of

We haven't even had our fill of Thanksgiving music yet. Too soon for Christmas music. The next thing you know, there will be Easter music in January.

I predict that WNIC will flip to all-Christmas on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 9th, the day after the mid-term elections. At least we won't have the double-whammy of political commercials and Christmas music! :barf

Start a new thread with that title. Anything involving wah-wahing will have 3 or 4 pages in no time.

It's the iHeart corporate playlist, where you're never more than 45 minutes away from "All I Want for Christmas Is You." And it sucks. I remember one Thanksgiving when I was able to pick up Majic 105.7 from Cleveland and Mix 98.1 from Defiance in addition to WNIC and WRVF, all running the same songs in the same order. Townsquare is little better.
WOMC now does the Christmas music on their HD2 (Oldies 104.3). That was my soundtrack for trimming the tree last year. Much better mix than WNIC/iHeart. And they've also already flipped. I won't be listening until Thanksgiving though.

I remember reading somewhere about a PD at an iheart station that made a Christmas playlist with no repeats for 24 hours and corporate said no, so she quit right then and there.

Also I looked at the playlist history for womc HD2. I don't like it. Definitely not the same playlist Tim uses for the the main station on Christmas. That's probably the only playlist I don't mind hearing the same songs every 2 hours on. I want to hear Happy Xmas (War is Over) and Step into Christmas 5+ times a day, and the unusual songs like Christmastjme by the Smashing Pumpkins

Sirius XM fired up 18, that’s right, 18 different Christmas music channels already.

That should be the slogan for any iHeart station that goes all-Christmas, especially before Thanksgiving.

Right! LOL
WOMC-HD2's playlist may not be perfect, but I still think it's better than iHeart's. At least they spare the listener the modern pop Christmas garbage from the likes of Justin Bieber or Ariana (Poor Man's Mariah Carey) Grande.
Once "The Christmas Shoes" comes on, though, all bets are off... and so is my radio.
