Lauren Thompson announces she's leaving WLNS-TV6

She closed the 5 and 6pm news by announcing she's leaving after 20 years at TV6, effective in the middle of December. Said she doesn't " know what the next chapter will bring".......wonder if it's her choice or NexStar's/station?
She's a good one in my opinion as a viewer, sorry to see her go.....

Seems to be the trend there Good Talent pushed out the door for some kid fresh out of college to take the position and believe me for a considerable amount less, Standard operating procedure at Deathstar! They posted for a news anchor already on their website

Ed I was looking over their Meet the Team page yesterday and thought most of them looked like babies. Sherri Jones must feel like grandma trying to wrangle a group of teenagers who got dumped on her door step because mom could not deal with them anymore.

Nothing like it was 30 years ago when. I lived in the area. You would never have seen a male reporter with ear rings and no one went on camera with bed head hair.

It’s a revolving door in the entire industry. That’s the problem with having a few main corporations own every station in the country. They could care less about the people, they care about the bottom line. And up and coming talent is always cheap.

maybe Lauren will stick around, remember Chivon Kloepfer announced a similar move and then apparently WLNS made another offer/pay/hours adjustment and she stayed ?.....

Now Nick Mantas in sports has announced his last day is Dec. 9th ....another good one a WLNS is headed out the door
