MacArthur Park music

I seem to remember one of the TV stations in Detroit using the insrumental portion of 1960's MacArthur Park for either a news open or for promos back in the 60's/70's. Does anyone else remember that or is it just my baby boomer imagination?

Perhaps you are thinking of the Lou Gordon program on WKBD-TV, Channel 50.
