Part 15 broadcasting is a very small signal that doesn’t require a license to broadcast. In some cases the signal can travel a few city blocks.

Re: Oldies music on 1620
I just tuned the "expanded band", looked at a display of each channel. 1610 carrier on freq no modulation detected, 1620, carrier detected +3 Hz no modulation detected, 1630 detected 2 carriers a few Hz apart no mod detected, 1640 2 or 3 carriers detected a few Hz apart , mixed voice and music , quite weak, 1650 detected 2 carriers 5 Hz apart,no modulation detected. 1660 carrier 6 Hz low.. sounds like middleEastern music , 1670 carrier 6 Hz high, music and voice barely dectected , 1680 very weak carrier maybe 7 Hz high, modulation not quite heard, 1690 Carrier -5 Hz. Modulation not detected .
This test was done in early aftrnoon in full daylight using a 250 Ft long Dipole antenna. I have had this radio for 13 months and, NEW, it was dead on freq when checked against WWV and CHU, from 2.5 to 25 MHz. NOW it has drifted, and is +4 Hz on 20 MHz, still within a Hz on 2.5 and 3.33 MHz.
If it gets much worse I will have to recalibrate the reference oscillator.
