Is he out at WQKL? The station posted for a morning show opening on All Access just today.
I remember when they let him go the first time, they were forced to rehire him because of all the negative PR that resulted.

All I ever hear on 107one is a back sell and a front sell. What's with all the "produce creative content" stuff?

107.1 is a cure for insomnia in my opinion.

He's also pushing 70, maybe he wants to retire.

He was really awesome at WDET, I've always felt sad for him since the move to 107.1

Well, he was on this morning, and I didn’t hear anything even hinting at him leaving, nor have there been any announcements on his social media/website.

If he is pushing 70 — which surprises me, I figured he was in his 50s — he probably is eyeing retirement, or just cutting back his workload to doing his Fine Tuning show and being in an off air role for the station.

A good idea would be to bring back John Bommarito and have him do mornings. He was usually the fill-in for Martin whenever he was off, and he did a respectable job.

Random thought: could this be a contract issue between him and Cumulus?

I want to be fair. Sometimes 107.1 scratches that deeper cut itch. They do spin some good stuff. The AAA format should be my thing. But it just ain't.

Nah, I don’t think KEXP would be Mega’s cup of tea. I absolutely love them, though.

I recommend 107.1 The Peak in NY, and XRT in Chicago. Both are heavy on deep cuts, especially the Peak.

Also, Audacy hasn’t completely fucked up XRT, so that’s a good thing.
