I really liked that show, particularly the earlier years. Later, not so much. If you didn't start early enough, or didn't watch enough to really understand the inside jokes, then I could easily see how you could watch an episode and not see it as all that funny. I'd guess 50% of the "funny" in some of the lines was tied to the personality who said it. Change that and it's not funny, so if you don't understand the personalities there's no joke in the line.Mike Oxlong wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 12:52 pmI kinda sorta agree with you.
It became a big thing. T-shirts at the mall. Board games at the Walmart and Meijer. Many folks surely got into it.
And I know many who binge watched the show when it was on NetFlix. I don't see that at all.

TV shows everyone else likes but you don't

M*A*S*H
From an objective television critic's point of view, I'd say it was a well-written, well-acted show that covered a lot of different topics in both sensitive and humorous ways.
But it never really appealed to me, maybe because of the dry, downbeat humor. I like Hogan's Heroes a lot better—it has more energy and more humor.

Same here.
Dark side shows for otherwise "nice" people. Also, a way to virtue signal your hipness.
Re: TV shows everyone else likes but you don't
I don't see the allure of "reality" shows.
