another departure from Fox17 Weather department

Anthony Domol posted to his Facebook last week that he was leaving Fox17. March 31 was his last day with no word where he was going next.

I thought that Anothony was on vacation? I saw Haleigh doing the evening forecast on Mon & Tue and Reece the past 2-days. I think they should make Haleigh M-F for evenings in my opinion. Seems like a lot are leaving Fox17 in the past couple of years.

Detroit is a possibility given Anthony is from that area. I had two other thoughts cross my mind:

One other possiblity is Las Vegas. His brother John was a reporter at WOOD-TV and is now at KTNV. Interestingly, KTNV is a Scripps owned ABC affiliate on Virtual Channel 13. But it seems if he was staying in the Scripps family, that he would have said so.

Or is Bill Steffen going to completely retire soon ad Anthony would do weekends there once any non-complete expires?

I personally never cared for his on-air presentation, always seemed to have bad chemistry with the anchors on the morning show. Real awkward anchor tosses. Seemed forced that they shifted him out with Chief Met Craig. Maybe now the chief will return to evenings? Regardless, I hope Domol finds success in his next chapter. Broadcasting is a difficult industry to navigate.

My guess would be it wasn't his choice. They were looking to fill this role with a familiar popular face from years ago, all the way back in January, before he had anything in the hopper. Besides, if he had another gig lined up, why wouldn't he say?

From what I understand they were looking for a weekend meteorologist. Their opening is no longer listed. Then Bill would completely retire.

If Laura stuck it out she could've been M-F weather met evening newscast when Anthony left a couple of weeks ago. Someone said Laura wasn't a team player at Fox17 when she left in the fall.

Maybe, but have also heard that she and ND Boers were less than chummy from their time together at 8 so who really knows what would have happened.
