A Hall Of Fame Broadcaster has succumbed to pancreatic cancer, in Salinas, California, at the age of 82. After working at several other radio stations, Tom Shannon, made his mark in Buffalo, at WKBW. He returned home twice, at WGR and later WHTT. Tommy was a fixture at the legendary CKLW, in Windsor/Detroit, and also worked in Denver. Tommy is featured in the Rock and Roll hall of fame, for his contributions in promoting and featuring the music on his various shows. He also was a song writer and producer. His biggest hit, was his theme song, "Wild Weekend" by the Rockin' Rebels"

Sad news to hear, you always think your radio heroes will live forever or remain as young as your used to hearing them even though your aging yourself.

Tommy was so smooth with his presentation and one of the golden voices of the Big 8. Yes, he did come from WKBW in Buffalo down to Windsor/Detroit and then he left and came back if I remember right.

Thx for the great times and memories RIP.
