This station has been off the air for about a week now. Anybody have an idea why?
Yes, I know that nobody listens to it. And that nobody misses it.
What's on 1090 these days? I've heard rumors of brokered rap music, and syndicated uniblab sports, but I've never checked it out.
1090 was a cash machine when Walter Wolpin owned it. Now that WJR is basically a pay to play station, the days of these suburban AMs making money that way are gone.

I live less than 2 miles from this station. Its just a nuisance to the airwaves here, and for no good programming. I’m glad it’s off.
I agree, and it's a shame. It was a unique community radio station for a very long time. A unique facility too, in that it actually increases power at night. Nowadays, it likely can't overcome the noise floor at night. In the 70s and 80s it was quite listenable in most of Oakland and Macomb on night pattern.

no matter what their programming was, you'd call it a nuisance, and those towers were there (95% certainty) before you moved to your place of residence

I grew up in the 80s and 90s with those towers visible from the house. The house I bought since then is within 2 miles of the towers. What's your point?
