At 8:10 or so, Alt was battling another 98.7 that was playing Give It Away. Trying to get an I.D. Anyone know what it might be?

I've been listening to 99 WNOR since about 5:30. Not a bad station. I was happy to hear Live All over you and Corey Taylor. Nice mix. I will probably listen more.

Usually, Sporadic E signals don't last that long. It might be because there are no cochannels further away than the ocean, and this is about at the minimum distance for Sporadic E. Usually, tropospheric would be the one that is stable. If you have an accurate and slow AGC signal meter, the Sporadic E signal bounces around in strength, literally bounces around with a d'Arsonval meter movement. Tropo stays close to the same signal strength over time.

This is an unusual distance, not because it's long, rather because it's short! At least for an FM broadcast signal heard by Sporadic-E propagation.

A more typical distance for FM reception by E-skip would be 1100 miles.

I toured the FM station and the shortwave station when I was at the 1985 WTFDA convention.

WRNO Worldwide, as they called it, used to run Rush Limbaugh, live. Rush called it "the EIB World Service".

As I recall, they actually started with some live rock music personality shows specifically for the shortwave audience, but reverted early on to simulcasting the FM.

I recenty have made some good stable contacts via Sporadic E- skip on 21, 24, 28 and 50 MHz radio bands, but have not really heard of it getting up to much higher freqs..
