WADL lands My Network TV

I totally did not see this coming. This might be the perfect opportunity for Scripps to flip WMYD to Newsy or become an independent station...and even restore the WXON calls since the Flint LP that had those calls has gone off the air.

My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!
Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

Re: WADL lands My Network TV
WADL still has that crappy signal, so MNT will lose some viewers in the western and southern fringes of the Detroit DMA.

Isn't WMYD's ATSC 2.0 signal using WXYZ's RF channel in any event?
It is possible Bounce or even ION will move to 20.1. Either would likely earn better ratings than MyNet.
Or, as suggested above, TV20 will stay truly Independent. They can easily backfill the two hours of programming with same day reruns of daytime syndie programming carried by WXYZ or extra newscasts.
WNEM in Saginaw had MyNetwork programming for years. Literally nothing decent or interesting to watch. Lots of reruns of their main channels syndicated shows
Re: WADL lands My Network TV
Here in the Cleveland market, the MyNetwork TV affiliate snatched the CW affiliation from TV 55, and then-renamed "CW 43" started running My from 11 PM to 1 AM.
It gets better.
My now runs not on "CW 43" or big brother CBS affiliate WOIO/19. It runs on 19.2 (the market's MeTV affiliate) from 1-3 AM (!) after Perry Mason and The Twilight Zone.

I doubt that WADL will be using ATSC 2.0.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 9:09 pm MyNetwork TV is garbage. I'm sure WMYD is perfectly fine with it going away.

The whole industry supposedly decided to pass ATSC 2.0 when the planning for it got slow, and they decided to just switch from ATSC 1.0 to ATSC 3.0.

I know. But I can't pick up WADL because they're way on the east side. I live on the west side.

The west side of the state? I'm on the west side of the metro area and I usually don't have any problem picking them upGerald1981! wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 12:22 pm I know. But I can't pick up WADL because they're way on the east side. I live on the west side.

Not the case according to Zap2It. WMYD will be airing Chicago Fire followed by Law & Order SVU in primetime to replace MNTV.

Re: WADL lands My Network TV
Any word on whether WYMD will be swapping calls? As mtburb says, I'd personally like to see them revert to WXON.
