Used to know a working class guy, a miner up in Sudbury. He could pop out his glass eye and use his eye socket as a bottle opener.

Looks like it stumped everyone.

It's a pad for the jaws of a C clamp, to prevent damage to your work.

Us middle class people that couldn't afford the fancy gadgets for our c clamps used hot pads from the kitchen to do the same thing.
New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.
