May Nielsen survey for Grand Rapids
WOOD Radio is #1 among listed stations. WCSG's subscription must've expired?
ESPN 96.1 reaches an all-time record low. The loss of Mike & Mike was strike #1. The loss of Jim Costa was strike #2. Just putrid numbers, even for that signal. That 0.8 share might be an all-time record low for the station ever since it first signed on, regardless of format.
Has iHM given up on 96.1? Is it even running a local PM drive show these days?

Re: May Nielsen survey for Grand Rapids
I can tell you that Sports being decimated early last year and not really recovering, and then ESPN making all of these programming changes that just aren't hitting with people are part of what made it an easy decision for me to flip WSJM-AM 1400 / W291DK 106.1 to Alternative...MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 8:54 pmESPN 96.1 reaches an all-time record low. Maybe it's time to bring back Mike and Mike?

I believe they’ve already said they were done working together and Golic’s contract wasn’t renewed I believe. Greeny could do it by himself and just have guests and be interesting. Or he could ask Golic Jr, who is honestly better than his dad…

It wouldn't surprise me to see what's his face move from 1340/106.1 to 96.1 at some point.

94.5, 101.3 had nice improvements, NOBODY is listening to 96.1, 106.1 or 107.3
I imagine if 90.9 WSLI SUbscribed it’d be low 2’s.
100.5 is low again

96.5, the AM 1260 translator? A 2 share?!?! Not a chance in hell (pun intended). When the station was listed a couple surveys back, it finished with a 0.1 share.
A rise from 2.1 to 2.3 (WKLQ) is statistically insignificant in Nielsen. WBFX did enjoy a decent gain. Joy 99.3 stumbled.

I'm curious. What are you playing on said alternative station? I'm looking for a real alternative station to stream since the alternative station in Detroit plays rap and pop.zackeast wrote: ↑Sat Jun 26, 2021 10:08 amI can tell you that Sports being decimated early last year and not really recovering, and then ESPN making all of these programming changes that just aren't hitting with people are part of what made it an easy decision for me to flip WSJM-AM 1400 / W291DK 106.1 to Alternative...MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 8:54 pmESPN 96.1 reaches an all-time record low. Well, alternative today is a tiny bit of crossover rap and some pop, yes. But this station was created by Bill Gamble of Q101 fame… https://www.thenewqyq.com

Mega Hertz - I recommend giving Rock 105.5 in Port Huron a try. It is a very 90's focused station.

Re: May Nielsen survey for Grand Rapids
Thank you, Gents. I had been aware of 105.5 (still a simulcast of 1490 or something?) when I still lived on the east side. I have a pretty good handle now on how to get to all my building sites so my phone is freed up to stream!

Re: May Nielsen survey for Grand Rapids
I listened to Alt 102.3 down in Ft Wayne last week, thats a decent station, similar playlist to the now defunct 92.1 in Scranton/Wilkes barre which is now a 90s focused station.
Re: May Nielsen survey for Grand Rapids
Actually, WCSG is still a subscribing station to Nielsen. Since this report is from a "trade" source and WCSG hadn't selected "monthly trends" in their subscription, Nielsen can opt to not include them in these types of reports. I'm pretty sure that WCSG has changed this setting in their subscription and you can expect to see them listed in these reports from now on.
