Why viewers no longer trust the media
Why viewers no longer trust the media
Another day... another ethically questionable story produced by 25-66’s corporate Death Star:
https://nbc25news.com/news/nation-world ... 2z3aY0MZFw
First, there is so much wrong with this story. An “undercover investigation” from a group that has been discredited so many times. Plus they “trap” a technical director who apparently knows all the high level editorial decisions being made at CNN. It’s as absurd a notion as believing Sinclair corporate consulting a technical director in Flint about the hack job they want to do on a rival. Possible, but not very likely.
Second, if the allegations are true, it shows why national news organizations are producing news with an editorial bias. CNN and Sinclair are both guilty. If the call is to shut down CNN... then so should the focus be to break up Sinclair.
Third, another example of corporate must runs that are editorially questionable that the In Over Her Head News Director forces us to run in our newscasts, website and social media.
And lastly, this is a prime example of why you shouldn’t use Tinder dating apps.

Yet Sinclair ignores the proven tilt that Faux News has had for years for the GOP.
I remember watching a documentary (out-Foxed? Can’t remember the name) about the 2004 Presidential race that showed memos from Faux News top management ordering that John Kerry be shown in a non presidential light versus W. Very eye opening

I don’t know many TDs that got into this business to make a difference. Most of us got into this business to make TV shows.Bidengirl wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 9:22 amThis CNN technical director represents so many people in the media.
They get into the propaganda (MSM) industry to "make a difference." Whether they want to paint cops as saints, get Trump out of office, present black people as victims, give credibility to a special needs teenager on "climate change," silence those they disagree with, or generally want you to relinquish your rights and have politicians run your life.
Oh... teenager with special needs or just teenager would be more appropriate.
Re: Why viewers no longer trust the media
Absolutely true. But, we also have MSNBC (for one example) who unapologetically slants Liberal in every way possible. The difference I see here is that NBC also runs a national news operation for broadcast on local TV, while FOX does not. To me, this makes NBC Nightly Fright with Lester Holt seem suspect, as any comparative show on all FOX stations would as well.Realist wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 12:48 pmYet Sinclair ignores the proven tilt that Faux News has had for years for the GOP.

(Btw, the "Nightly Fright" moniker really applies to all news. It's transparent and pathetic that all National News does everything they can to frighten viewers. I can just hear Lester saying "Good evening, the nation hit a H*** milestone in COVID vaccinations today! But, now a fear of a seventeenth wave, and it's in YOUR BACK YARD. Let's go to Miguel Almagare for more!" Gotta keep 'em tuning in, right?)
Re: Why viewers no longer trust the media
You bring up Lester Holt, interesting thing about him is that while you say that NBC News runs left, it’s came out that he is actually a moderate RepublicanDAC wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 8:11 pmAbsolutely true. Very interesting. I have generally found Lester to seem fairly neutral, but he's still the face of the national news scare tactics. One of the things that took me by surprise was that Tom Brokaw did a pretty good job, with the exception of one or two slips, being neutral for all those years, and then went to MSNBC and was just out of control. It's weird when you see a tiger show it's true stripes.Realist wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 10:28 pmYou bring up Lester Holt, interesting thing about him is that while you say that NBC News runs left, it’s came out that he is actually a moderate RepublicanDAC wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 8:11 pmAbsolutely true. This is more of a political statement, so I hope it doesn't steer the thread out of control: Moderates are largely the forgotten wasteland in the political landscape. Liberals will point at all the nut jobs attacking the Capitol building and say "those are the true Trump people! See how horrible they are?!" Meanwhile, Conservatives will point at anything that has a whiff of socialism involved, and say "those are the Hillary/Bernie/Harris type of people!" To use the moderate Republican example for this most recent election, basically 49% of the country voted for Donald Trump. There's no way that they can possibly all be nut jobs. Same with many of those who voted for Biden. The middle really does not have any representation.

With Brokaw, it was the difference between OTA and Cable at that time. OTA national news wasn't quite so slanted until the Brokaw/Jennings/Rather 'era' was over in '05.DAC wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:22 pm

I thought Charlie Gibson did a decent job trying to keep ABC as neutral as possible.

Kids read articles on social media and believe they are facts.
Back when OTA newscasts were the only things available, at least the information (propaganda) went through a series of checks before it was broadcasted. Today, it's all "Just go live on your iPhone and tell us what you think is happening."

Left-wing bleeding-heart tree-hugging socialists and right-of-center nuke-the-commies conservatives both have the right to say their piece. If you disagree with one, you are free to disagree with it. If you don't want to hear something, then don't listen to it.

How about this gem that must have been forced on all of the Sinclair affiliates? Even Dave Bondy risked his credibility and posted it. https://nbc25news.com/newsletter-daily/ ... hinese-lab
