Re: Ron Cameron
This is like the worst time for Ron to be hiding out in his motel from the Corona. There is a lot going on in the sports world while he hides out and awaits his 2nd shot of the vaccine. How do his sponsors that spent money to advertise react? I'm sure he won't let them know but I'd be a little pissed to spend advertising dollars and find out the guy has taken a siesta.

Re: Ron Cameron
I don't know a lot. All I can say is that with some people reportedly having it around him, he wants to be fully vaccinated before returning. Looking to be back in May and in the meantime I guess it's about phone calls with landlords on a "restaurant deal" (as usual).

Re: Ron Cameron
So Martin had the Corona. Well that explains all the remarks from Ron about the anti-maskers.
Re: Ron Cameron
Thanks, Alex! At least we know that the fears that Ron wouldn't be returning were unfounded.
Re: Ron Cameron
Could Ron possibly be taking a break to punish his detractors on the buzzboard.I wonder how Kurt is handling this.?
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron Cameron's Guide to Talk Show Etiquette
- It is not necessary to preface every sentence with "Real quick..." When Ron wants your call to end, he'll let you know—emphatically. (Sound clip of call by Mr. Positive)
- It is not necessary to preface every sentence with "Actually." (Sound clip of conversation with a former producer)
- Conversation is a two-way process. It is not necessary to constantly interrupt Ron in a frantic attempt to say everything in your head. (Sound clip of Kurt from Fraser)
- When you are a guest, it is not acceptable to use any variation of the phrase "So what, who cares?" (Sound clip of Mark Wilson at the 90-minute mark of a 2-hour interview)
- When you are a guest, and Ron asks you to stay a couple more minutes, politely say No and gently hang up the phone, or risk being trapped on the phone for 20 more minutes.
- When talking about umpires, it is not acceptable to use phrases like "He blew it," but it's OK to say stuff like "He was always right."
- When Ron is on a roll with one of his favorite stories (Cory Lidle, Cal Ripken, etc.), don't say a word. At such times, Ron is almost in a trance, and it is psychologically risky to interrupt him.
Re: Ron Cameron
Another great post, Bobbert! But actually, and real quick, I think Mr. Positive lifted "real quick" from JJ, the original "real quick" caller.
Re: Ron Cameron
For some reason, this brought to mind the end of Ron"s WDTK era:

From Ron’s Twitter page, big news on Friday
Sports talk News:
I talked with my Producer Martin and I am going to give you an update on Friday on the air.
Thanks for your support, it was a hard decision to take a break from my radio show.
Stay tuned for more details.

Re: Ron Cameron
I read into that by inferring he will be taking an extended leave of absence. Again, very untimely as one of the more busiest times of the sports year with the NFL draft, NBA and NHL playoffs on the horizon, and MLB of course which has started up a couple weeks ago. As Ron would say "a lot to talk about".
I don't know how a guy who is scared of catching the Corona is even remotely thinking and considering opening a restaurant. Call me crazy.
I know Mr, P is amongst us and may have insider knowledge. What say you Mr. P ?

Re: Ron Cameron
If he's taking an extended leave of absence, surely you'd think that Alex would be in the know. Methinks this is a typically shrewd PR move by one expert at building an audience through suspense.
Re: Ron Cameron
No PR move.Ron is not that smart.I am afraid that the Ron Cameron sports talk dynasty has come to.an end. It has died a quick and painless death. The pall bearers should be Kurt, Mr.Positive, Momo, Martin, Alex and Denny McLain.
Re: Ron Cameron
If this is truly the end...Cowboy From Windsor, even though he’s been strangely silent on SportsTalk the last few years, needs to walk alongside the casket, too.
