Not The Babylon Bee Or The Onion-USPS Must Slow Delivery
The US Post Office is too efficient, according the the Post Office.
I suspect that this is an attempt to discourage and eventually shut down First Class Mail. It will be replaced by junk mail stuffing your mailbox daily.
If they go any slower, they'll be backing up the trucks.

This is all part of the bigger game and that is to dismantle the post office. You take something that worked reasonably well and deconstruct it. Give the excuse " See! see! it's not working anymore. Drill that into the masses heads and sell the idea that it would be so wonderful and there would so many choices! If it was sold to Amazon or Haliburton. Get the masses to believe it, use something like COVID-19 or terrorism to justify it.
Then make it happen and wonder why the cost of postage on a letter is $4.00.

It hasn't been "working" for decades. They LOSE money every single year. No business cold survive like that.
Re: Not The Babylon Bee Or The Onion-USPS Must Slow Delivery
you're trying to look at a vital government service like a business. Business lobbying is the reason why it loses money every year. The direct marketing association is very aggressive at lobbying Congress to ensure that junk mail rates stay below the costs. When you look at this, business is not paying its fair share for the service it is receiving.

The Direct Mail folks have destroyed the Postal Service. They are paying virtually nothing to have junk shoved into your box... The hookers in Toledo as least charge enough to stay in business when someone wants to shove junk into their box.TC Talks wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 5:27 pmyou're trying to look at a vital government service like a business. If that's what's bleeding them, then they need to fix it. All I've heard for the last few decades is that the junk mail is actually paying the bulk of the costs, and if it was eliminated were be paying much much more to send a letter.TC Talks wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 5:27 pmyou're trying to look at a vital government service like a business. Louis Traitor Le Joy is still at the helm. He wants to push through more changes after he ditched the mail sorting machines prior to the election. The strategy is to grind everything to a halt so his corporate snakes can come in and exploit the infrastructure and make billions off of the corpse of USPS.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

It was originally a department of the government just like the EPA or the IRS. Idiots 50 years ago on a deregulation spree decided that we needed a bunch of government corporations that needed to show a profit. It was to kill off government services under the guise of efficiency. It’s asinine.
The big culprit though is the 2006 pension bill that requires prefunding 75 YEARS of employee pensions. It would be much closer to a profit without that awful law.
Re: Not The Babylon Bee Or The Onion-USPS Must Slow Delivery
It's not about "making a profit", but about living within the budget you've established. EVERY SINGLE YEAR the USPS has had to go back to Congress for more money, over and above their budget. And with any of the ridiculous pension plans that are offered by governments, they absolutely should be fully funded so the taxpayers know the real costs involved.Rate This wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 11:32 amIt was originally a department of the government just like the EPA or the IRS. As a department it would work differently. The pressure is on them because they need to function as a business. It’s a scam to privatize it.km1125 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 1:17 pmIt's not about "making a profit", but about living within the budget you've established. Karen, you are more off target than the music library of Q105. As a private business, I was allowed to run those stations into the ground and spend the money I wanted to until I was fired. As a quasi-governmental service, USPS is controlled by Congress who sets the rules and the budgets and the lobbyists who push for lower rates and lots of perks. And this joker running the place is truly trying to grind it to a halt so his own business can take over. DeJoy has a great scam, much better than that one I tried to pull on those car dealers.km1125 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 1:17 pmIt's not about "making a profit", but about living within the budget you've established. I printed postage from their website on a Monday put the box on my front porch Tuesday morning and my daughter in Lexington Ky got it Thursday. All for about 48% of what UPS and FedEx wanted.
