98.7 The Train wreck
98.7 The Train wreck
So, I actually forced myself to listen to ALT 98.7. This sounds more like a pop station. No: Green Day, STP, Pearl Jam, RATM, 311, or even an occasional deeper cut like, Goldfinger "Here in your Bedroom". Oddly, I heard RATM on 106.7fm a little later.
Anyway, there much of been some glitch in there feed, as I heard "Alt 96.5" twice. Then a few 2nds of dead air, then a PSA for COIVD shots and then back to music.
Thing is, I used to listen to Alternative rock radio back in the 1990s, and yes I know things change, blah blah blah blah. Still, you need a local presence and some soul. This is souless and boring. This is not what former 89x listeners wanted!

Don't forget the house of Laslo at 3 PM which is the most boring talk show that serves ZERO purpose other than those fucknuts getting paid.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

This station, is one more reason for people to stream their radio and music. Traditional radio is garbage. A big THANK YOU! to corporate radio for destroying the terrestrial radio platform. GOOD JOB! Entercom.

I thought it was called “The Church of Lazlo”. At any rate it SUCKS!MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 10:44 pmDon't forget the house of Laslo at 3 PM which is the most boring talk show that serves ZERO purpose other than those fucknuts getting paid.

I wouldn't call 98.7 a trainwreck. A trainwreck is entertaining.

Skip — yes it’s the Church of Lazlo.
If you want my opinion, 98.7 is probably the soundtrack to Hell. Especially when they play Juice Wrld.

Re: 98.7 The Train wreck
I've said it before and it continues to be true...WRIF sounds phenomenal these days. They've really doubled down on the gold alternative tracks that were cornerstones of 89x from the late 90s on. I never thought I'd hear Sum 41 on WRIF, but the supposed "replacement" for 89x doesn't play that stuff. WRIF is on while driving the work van more and more. Dave & Chuck in the morning and better alternative than the alternative station all day.

I've noticed that yes, I heard 311 down on RIFF a few days ago. I may have to set a button for them now.

I have to agree; I’m really impressed with Riff. I remember getting Meltdown to play the Foo Fighters’ cover of Baker Street a while back, which was pretty damn cool — both to hear that and have someone take a request. And much to my own surprise, Dave and Chuck have grown on me a lot.
I find myself skipping between Riff, 107one, and NPR a lot lately.

I heard Fuel on 106.7 and RATM as well. So maybe LLZ is sort of thinking the same thing a little.
