Sinclair is the parent company, and they're selling the naming rights of the fox sports regionals to Bally's. That is fucking nauseating.Robert Faygo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 6:18 pmThe FOX broadcasting network (and its deal with the NFL , it's owned and operated over-the-air broadcast stations, along with Fox News Channel and Fox Business) is still part of the FOX conglomerate. They weren't part of the Disney deal.
All the other sports properties (most of the regional sports networks) that are still using the FOX Sports name are owned by Diamond Sports Group after the Feds forced Disney to get rid of them in order to acquire the rest of the FOX stuff they bought.

Re: Thursday Night Football on ABC?
Disney and the NFL have reached a broad agreement on a new media rights deal that will see ESPN renew “MNF” and ABC return to the Super Bowl rotation for the first time since ‘06, according to sources. Contracts still have not been signed, but the two sides have smoothed over enough differences that a deal is very close at hand.
https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/S ... N-NFL.aspxThe biggest change will be with “TNF,” which will move from Fox to Amazon Prime and NFL Network. It is unclear what Amazon would be paying.
Wellllll... la de frickin da

Hopefully there will be some kind of in-market over the air broadcast clause for those Thursday games not that the Lions will be on one most likely.Robert Faygo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 8:18 pmDisney and the NFL have reached a broad agreement on a new media rights deal that will see ESPN renew “MNF” and ABC return to the Super Bowl rotation for the first time since ‘06, according to sources. Amazon Gets Thursday Night Games, NFL Nearly Doubles TV Revenue
"Games on Amazon will also be carried on over-the-air broadcast stations in the cities of the participating teams, also the case with games aired on ESPN and NFL Network. ABC gets back in the Super Bowl rotation with two games over the 11 seasons. ESPN gets some flexibility in its schedule on Monday nights, with the NFL agreeing to potentially move as many as five games from Sunday, and will have three doubleheaders, up from one."

Well shit, so much for FOX having TNF rights locked up for a few more years. I cannot believe I read untruths on the interwebs!SixPlusOne wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 12:06 pmCourtesy: TVNewsCheckGerald1981! wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 6:26 pmWith Super Bowl LV behind us, will the Thursday Night Football package move from Fox to ABC in 2023......

Maybe ABC Sports will bring back Wide World of Sports. I'm in the mood for some great dog sled racing, or Skiing competition. Even as a kid, I couldn't believe ABC broadcasts sporting events that had such limited appeal. They probably didn't have to pay much in broadcast rights. And, advertisers liked the demographics of the weekend viewers.
