I think it is going to be an interesting election cycle. IMHO Tulsi Gabbard would have been the best choice for VP, but that is simply one person's opinion. I have read quite a bit on the choice since it was made public and the reactions are all over the board. She will help, she won't help, too much baggage, no baggage, in other words, not a lot of fact, just opinion and bluster, a lot like what I have in this thread. One thing that I have thought for a long damn time, is this country is behind the times when it comes to a female leader. Israel, England, India have all had very successful women leaders. While I was not a fan I thought we had finally opened our eyes when President Obama won two terms, but nope, back to the old white guy mold... If Condi Rice was running for President I would be at every rally, have yard signs and donate. Maybe some day we will get it right, but this year we have two turd piles to choose from and we the people lose no matter what pile wins..."the opinion of one tired voter"

As if that's somehow a measure of the pinnacle of success?? Doubt it. There are few Margaret Thatchers in the world and we'd be lucky if one worked her way though the political process when she'd probably make 10x as much in the private sector.

I have no issues with having a female leader, but it should be based on her as an effective leader capable of the job, NOT just because "we need a female". The last guy proved what a mistake it was just to make the decision based on achieving the "first as a" threshold.

We've had two female leaders in Michigan, and they've both been awful.
