Wow. How about that. Perhaps I was just too young and not paying attention. I thought perhaps it was named after someone that wasn't involved. I never knew there was a real Mother Waddles. Thanks for the link, Vic!

Toward the end of her life, she seemed to become caught up in her (relative) fame, with gaudy, sequined clothing and fancy wigs. She reminded me of Billy Preston.
